"Ings played well under Dyche at Burnley, to a point where it got him England call ups and a huge move to Liverpool. I'm sure he can play Moyesball to some extent if he managed to do so well under Dyche."

Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread
Burnley were sitting back trying to defend a lead so Ings had players close to him to play off and could have had a hat-trick. If you ask him to play Moyesball as a striker isolated 40 yds from our next player with two bigger centre halves all over him he fails. Like Haller. Like Scamacca

"The Ings thing is very strange. He's not exactly had a huge impact but there have been glimpses and recently, when he's been given a chance, he's look better. And yet, since he had one disallowed and then scoring another against Burnley when we were in desperate need of goals, he has had a grand total of about 5 minutes in 4 games. If I was Ings, I wouldn't be talking to Moyes either, or at least if I was, it wouldn't be very politely."

I suppose he bounced back of sorts from taking a £500mil squad into a relegation battle last season.
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread - Preview
One does like Moyes who always managing to bounce back but never seems to gets the credit for it . Lost the dressing room ? Don't think so. Good manager that Moyes ... Cup winner David to you .

Mavropanos is 26 and dont think centre halves come into their prime til their late 20's so think he can develop further. I like Aguerd despite his errors and think he can improve too. Ogbonna has been great for us for almost a decade but obviously this is his last season. Hasnt let us down when he has stepped in particularly away at Arsenal Zouma is suffering with his dodgy knee but doubt we'd be able to move him on.

"Eerie Descent 1:49 Wed Apr 3 Well, Spurs are not hammering teams are they? They have plateaued under Ange. It was good time to play them at home I thought. But, as you so very clearly point out, if you don't attempt to go out and beat them then you most likely won't."

"I agree Mavropanos is really improving and for me is our best CB now. Zouma and Aguerd have strengths, but also massive weaknesses. Zouma has excellent postioning and winning the ball, but it is embarrassing seeing him hobbling about and his passing to often gives the ball straight back to the opposItion. Aguerd makes up for Zouma, good passing, good at chasing and stopping a break, but general defending lets him down. I know Ogbonna is o!d, but he is a better all round than that pair. Our attack is fine. Against Spurs, I do not remember being so unconcerned about going a goal down. I was 100% confident we would equalise. It was the winning goal that evaded us and we definitely based on opportunities created we were more deserving of a winning goal. Obviously I didn't enjoy losing to Newcastle, or a draw with Spurs for that matter, but last two games have been great entertainment. Lots of edge of seat, jumping about and shouting at the tv! Our attacting is good, nothing like some park the bus, defensive based team. We do not do the boring passing about midfield, kind of probing opposrdefense, we just go for it and risk losing possession, which is usually ok.."

"marty feldman 7:49 Wed Apr 3 ''I've heard rumours Moyes and ings ain't even on speaking terms. which if true explains the non use of him''' That's a rumour I can believe. The last few times he has come on (in the last minute) Ings has been shaking his head not looking happy at all, he played well at Sheffield Utd then the home game when he scored, but no chances since."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread - Preview
It’s weird how many times Mavropanos gets his head on the ball in their 6 yard box from a corner and somehow doesn’t score. I’ve noticed it a few times this year where I’ve thought to myself how the fuck did he miss that?

Hayek. I thought we won the youth cup and how are the under 21 doing in the PL2? What else do you expect the youngsters to do?
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"I think last night summarises moyes, not a single sub on the bench worthy of bringing on! Was this a petulant shot at those who criticised phillips at the weekend or do we really have nobody moyes trusts on the bench? Like many on here I have supported the Hammers for over 50 years, I have loved football much longer than that but moyes has totally destroyed my love of the game (well that and var). Our youth policy is absolute zero, his tactics are chronic, he is useless in the transfer market and not so long ago he spent over £300m on the team and we have a squad of 14/15 and at the start of last nights match he would have taken a point!!! Pathetic, get out!!!"

"Ludo21 10:43 - I thought Mavro was at fault for their goal, poor positioning he should of been marking the space at the near post and the cross would never of reached Johnson.Basics."

"If we can see off Moyes and keep all our current players and proper professionals like Steidten on board, it’ll be like winning a proper cup and I’ll be delighted. The next manager appointment will have to step up to the standard set by Paqueta, Kudus, Alvarez and Emerson so I look forward to a bright future for West Ham United."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Tottenham - Official Match Thread - Preview
"I think that Mavropanos could develop into a great CB... he is gradually improving and has a great temperament. Him and Emerson are fine. Aguerd cost 30m and I reckon that we could sell him on at that price, certainly if the Saudis are interested and get a replacement without much additional outlay... we will be getting fees for Benrahma and Kerher which should finance a RB. If we could get a decent striker for less than 50m then surely we could keep Paqueta if he can be persuaded to stay."

JAC exactly. The defence is the issue. But a striker of toneys class would offset a lot of our problems going forward. And would relieve a lot of defensive issues to boot . Antonio off the bench would be perfect. As well.
