Champions league QF

Post fraser »

Bayern v Inter
Arsenal v Real
Barcelona v Dortmund
PSG v Villa

4 decent ties, the top two look the closest with not much in the odds. Hopefully some entertaining games that will save me spending the evenings searching for something to watch.

Does anyone give a shit and be watching?

Yeah, exactly. Barcelona looked pretty shit a couple of years back but their youngsters - Cubarsi, Balde, Yamal, Pedri, Gavi, Casado and Fermin - are about on a par with that mainly home grown team which dominated under Guardiola 15 years ago. Hansi Flick's doing a great job as coach as well, much better than Xavi.

For this year I reckon the winner will be Barcelona, who are streets ahead of the other teams left in the competition. Only other possibility that I see is PSG.
I was going to say it's a max of 5, but I looked and it is now 7 after they changed the format/number of teams this season.

How did Barcelona come back, thought they looked fucked a couple of years ago, down to their top youngsters I'd imagine?

Great performance from Rice to be fair, 2 superb free kicks and MOTM by a mile, still has me shaking my head he left us, this performance reminds me of when Jack Wilshire played Barcelona off the park a few years back, did his reputation no end of good, as this performance will for Declan, Jack then succumbed to regular injury's and what ifs, Declan showed his worth tonight, fair play to him, sickening all the same though😑

Arsenal fans and unfortunately i know a few are on cloud 9 today, how great Arteta is blah blah blah, only a few weeks ago they wanted shot of him!!! 🤣 Mind you if there is one club that can and HAS overhauled such deficits in big games its Real Madrid, and you can bet the Ref on the night will be looking for every opportunity to help them out and won't be surprised to see an obscene amount of added time if its close after 90 mins!

I'm pleased for Declan. Two crackers.  I know he left us but the reason he did was to do exactly what he did  tonight and something we could never give him, a chance to shine in a CL quarter final.

They've deserved this should have been more, still 90 more minutes for them to choke in but you have to think they're through. But going out from here would really hurt... So here's hoping..

Elsewhere Inter are 2-1 up in Munich, and Millwall won away at Sheffield United……….. just 3 points off the play offs now.

When English clubs can play at this tempo for 70 or 80 minutes, there’s just nobody who can match them.
