Agreed.  It did drag on.

This City is Ours on IPlayer ain't too bad.
I thought Reacher 3 was pretty poor compared to seasons 1 and 2.

The only thing that offended me about Adolescence was how fucking boring it was. I mean, impactful subject matter but awfully done. IMO.

Also, where can I watch Mobland?

I wouldn;t say Mobland is typical Ritchie but he didn';t write it only directed. Also Tom hasn't gone full "Hardy"for once thank God.  It's very good even if Stephen Graham is not in it...shock horror !

Regarding Adolescence, I wouldnt go looking for offence in it. The story it tells is an important one, as parents we can all be a bit complacent in allowing our kids freedom on the internet and not closely monitoring what they're doing. Its a modern problem, whereas my parents didnt know what I was up to every minute of everyday and they had to put some trust in my ability to make sensible decisions we as parents today have almost too much ability to see into our kids lives and what they are doing. Just because the family in it are white and the main focus is looking at a personal irritant of mine, what they now term as 'toxic masculinity', another bullshit buzz phrase, doesnt mean its not something worth addressing and considering as a problem in society for kids. In the same way we've had shows on black street gangs selling drugs and stabbing/shooting each other, raping gangs in the north and midlands of islamic faith and lots of other risks to the innocence of kids today you cant look at this show and say because its focus might be on white males that its offensive to you and therefore its some sort of propaganda and put out there just to white/male bash, the likes of Andrew Tate, etc are real and its obviously an issue for some young boys today so taking a closer look at it through shows like Adolescence is at least of value so people are more aware of it. I found it interesting and im a father of only girls as I didnt know half of this stuff went on within the social media environment.
Sorry Jim .
You're too nice.

Alfs wrote: 09 Apr 2025, 01:32 White Lotus 3 left me feeling very underwhelmed. It could have and should have been told in three hours rather than six (and it still wouldn't have been very good).  It's a shame as the first two seasons were excellent but this one was a car crash.
But you stuck with it till the end though, careful Swiss will be after you for that!

I thought the last episode was good. Season 4 confirmed, hopefully it gets back to the form of the first two.

White Lotus finally picked up in the last episode where they crammed it all in, it was good. Extended episode.

So you'll go hours watching drab boring shit just for one episode at the end. Do don't get out much do you?
Haha! Says the man that watches every show under the sun, mostly shite.

Fwiw, I stuck with it because the first two seasons were really good so I knew this would be worth sticking with, and it was. As for going hours watching it, it was one hour a week. Prick.

Mobland is excellent. Brosnan and Mirren at their best and I can just about tolersate Hardy's, this time quite restriant, acting. I'm a big Paddy Considine in fact the whole cast is top rate.
