So it's the worst team in the league against the 4th worst team in the league...should be a cracker!

It would be very West Ham to scrape a 1-1 draw, or even worse, fall to a scrappy 1-0 defeat, but I'm hopeful we'll be better than that.

Prediction: 2-0

Expect Potter to go for a ball playing lineup, all be it not what we would like.
Areola

Wan Bissaka Todibo Kilman Scarles

Soler JWP Paqueta

Bowen Kudus Guilherme
Would obviously like to see Füllkrug start, but sounds like he won't be risked. Can't much see the point in giving Ferguson any game time since we know he's not staying...so hoping rather than Soucek coming in, he gives Guilherme the nod.

COYI.

Yea they are truly dreadful, it's like he's sitting there taking the piss. Remember when he first rocked up and many were saying they were looking forward to pressers again?? This fella's are even worse than the Spaniards were.
Surely all the press conferences are the same though. Managed questions that result in either platitudes or nothing being said?

If any of the press were to ask meaningful questions they wouldn't get invited back, Ferguson stylee.

I'd still say they're better than Lopetegui, but Bilic aside who was a pure, intelligent straight talker, they're an exercise in saying nothing.

As they say...talk is cheap.
No, they are not all the same at all, other managers are mainly more interesting and informative, I'm not the only one saying this either. Even Moyes would come out with the occasional interesting soundbite and/or have a run in with a journo etc, but this cսnt literally saying nothing. But you carry on defending him.

If Trotter can’t beat this lot comfortably then he might as well knock it on the head and find himself a job in HR somewhere.

For us to have the shackles off means we will be open and likely to concede. They will sit deep and try to counter on us.

It could be a 4-1 or 4 -2 win or a 0-1, 2-3 loss who knows?

Fullkrug cannot play more than a half by the sounds of things. That means having to play Ferguson for 45 mins. Start with Fullkrug or bring him on again?

Central midfield of Alvarez, Soler and Paqueta but will probably be JWP.

Suspect he will start with 4 at the back and Fullkrug up top but even if we get who we want to start Im not sure we can be confident of easily rolling over Southampton. We struggle with any team that sits deep in numbers. But lets hope Im compleyely wrong and surprised.

I’ll go with Stubbo’s team, but replace Guilherme with Fullkrug. Don’t see why he won’t start Fullkrug, but maybe Stubbo knows something. Read Wan Bisakka is due a late fitness test, which I hope he passes.
We will win.
We will play well.
Many on WHO will moan about it.

I've been watching West Ham since the first ground was opened by Henry 7th. I know the pattern by now Play great stuff against the very best teams and lose or draw, and then play rubbish against the worst teams. In fact the more rubbish the team in front of us, the worse we play. It.s a scientific fact.

This is West Ham. Of course we're losing at home to the worst team since Eleven Points Derby.

but the problem is, from then on that's what the support will want to see week in week out. it basically says "yes my system was shite, here's some goals to say sorry". on the other hand, he might see it as the perfect opportunity to prove that the system CAN work by implementing it against the worst prem team in a generation.
Yes it's a fair point, but if he does let the shackles off we play well and then he's asked something like why didn't you do that before he will just put some spin on it, talk in riddles etc. Another consideration, and this may well be a conspiracy, but due to ST renewals not going so well someone has had a word in his shell and told him the faithful need to be entertained, not to mention the fibber promised he would deliver that brand of football anyway.

3-0 but will mean nothing

They might not be much between the clubs in terms of league position but as we saw with Leicester, those three clubs at the bottom are quite poor indeed.

Unlikely to be any surprises in the line up. I expect a convincing win.

What should happen :

Statement of intent, high tempo full court press from kick off. A performance to inspire belief he can build something over the summer so next season is something to look forward to.

What will likely to happen:

More of Potter's pincerless crab-ball shite. Boo'd off at half time. Late Southampton goal. Stadium empty when the whistle goes. Potter dead man walking.

If we can't look good and win by 2 or 3 at home to this shite Ipswich deserve to overtake us.
