I cannot see Potter being removed / replaced before next season as Sullivan wont want to pay off two managers and their staff in one season. He will, like others, hope a transfer window and pre season can result in a turn around. So its ok to say Potter’s not the answer etc ( he certainly does not seem to be from what we’ve seen and decisions he’s made, tactics used ), we now have to look at where we go next.
All our hopes now centre around the summer transfer window. That somehow, Kyle Macaulay has identified the right targets that will address the obvious weaknesses in the team and squad. On top if this, we have to hope that Sullivan will approve and can then secure the targets. Finally, and assuming that Potter is going to continue with, what in opinion is a somewhat dated, controlled possession tactical set up, that the players that we get have the talent, capabilities and as important, attitude and mind set needed to transform us as a squad and team almost in spite of how Potter seems to want us to play.
Throw into the challenge, the need to raise the required funds from sales of Kudus, Soucek, Aguerd, Emerson, Alvarez etc and even an optimist would surely say the odds look to be against us seeing a big turnaround in performances and results. Because thats what we need. A turnaround on the scale seen at Forest.
I just cannot see how that can happen with everything that has to be done and be done correctly. We rarely if ever get transfer business right. Sullivan leading negotiations just screams failure.
I can only foresee a relegation struggle or relegation itself at this juncture. An uncomfortable truth
