Re: Potter Out
Surely it’s the manager’s job to motivate and reorganize from the sidelines…during the game…
all I saw was a dead fish stroking his beard during the Southampton game…
potter was sleep walking on the touch line…
Poor Man’s Waistcoat…

Re: Potter Out
Correct Gary.
And as mentioned below, who will Sullivan pick next time from the out of work manager pile that will make a difference. Wolves picked a little known bloke plying his trade in the Saudi leagues but must therefore have done some research into his background and methods and more importantly had a defined profile of the man they were looking for, his attitude, personality, people management and communication skills, tactical approach etc.
Sullivan looks at who’s out of work and cheapest then who they once managed ( big clubs for bling factor ) and better still trophies they won even if those achievements were 5-10 years ago. On top of all this they have to be 60 years old or more.
Its hopeless. Wasting energy and time thinking much will change. Its feels like its just a question of when not if we get relegated under Sullivan?

Potter didn't replace Moyes, you plank.
Don't let the guard slip at this point son, you've been doing so well.

Re: Potter Out
There is no way Sullivan will dispense with Potter's services regardless of his results between now and the end of the season
He won't want to pay him off and will dig his heals in that he brought in the right man who just needs time and some new players.
On that basis we can only hope for the best but it will be interesting to see how many buy into it or walk away from renewing or attending next season

The cunts on here calling for his head despite the players not being his is ludicrous. This lot would have been Lyall out after a couple of seasons.
John Lyall was our manager in the 70s/80s for you newcomers or Spurs fans on here.
Under the current climate, Lyall would have been sacked. Different industry, different times!
When people are calling for Potter's heads, what you need to also factor in is that not a lot of people wanted him in the first place.

Leicester have Championship/League one standard players, Southampton the same yet they outplayed us a couple of days ago. Wolves is the best comparison you need to make.
Re: Potter Out
Only Southampton and Leicester below us in the form table, one of those outplayed us Saturday.. Ipswich above us but of course not Potter's fault as he has a worse squad than their manager does.......

Oh course he can't he's got an IQ lower than the square root of zero.

Any decent coach with some ambition and backbone would be trying to kill them off by getting a 2nd and 3rd goal.
The more I see of him the less I like him. He sounds like he’s spent too much time on media training and seems to have little or no personality; something which the best managers definitely have. All in all he’s another Southgate.
Instead of having a positive effect on the team he’s having the opposite and doing worse than Lop. That’s nowhere near good enough. He’s lucky that we had a reasonable points haul when he showed up otherwise he’d be taking us down.
I wouldn’t trust him with a large transfer budget so for that reason I want him gone by the summer.
I never went to the game and only watched it on MOTD. But according to people on here he was instructing them to get up and stop sitting back. So who's fault is it? The players? Or Potter for not being able to get his message / approach across to the players. Was Fullkrug right when he said the manager doesn't want us to play this way.
All in all, its just a bit of a mess.

This is what he said in December to a German newspaper. Clearly our place doesn't match up.
"If I compare it to Borussia Dortmund, you go out to warm up and the whole stadium is roaring. It's unbelievable, and you miss it when you're used to it."

Re: Potter Out
A few more bad results and performances and the noise will get very loud to get rid! and as said the other day maybe better we hit rock bottom in the next month or so than think everything's all ok and papered over and we tank next season?
If he can't cut it then lets tank whilst it doesn't really matter and the board can see it clear as day, start afresh next season, although given Sullivans record on appointments would it really matter!!! Mind you plenty wanted Amorim and even the media and pundits thought he was the next messiah but fuck knowns what he's doing at ManU??? they have turned to shit on a par with us, and only the luckiest of events got them to the S/F of the Europa, if they don't win it though expect him to be out on his ear.

Re: Potter Out
Even though the chances of him being sacked are very slim, and probably rightly so, I'm thinking he needs some results over the remaining games. If we lose at Brighton and then at home to Spurs I can see the calls for him to go before the summer getting very loud. At the moment you wouldn't give him a chest of drawers let alone a war chest.
Regardless of Potter, the squad IS going to be better come August, and if there is one good thing that might come out of his shit reign so far is that no 'sentiment' will be shown with the out of contract dad's army lot, I can see the lot going. Alvarez and Soucek will go too, very possibly Kudus and Paqueta and maybe the Brazilian, plus the two shit loanees. Aguerd won't come back.

Re: Potter Out
We are arsehole lucky that the three teams below them are so abysmal. If just one of the teams coming up makes a fist of it we'll be in deep shit. With Sullivan acting as DoF I can't see us getting any decent replacements in neither.

I’m still going to stubbornly say he’ll work out ok after giving the midfield an overhaul in the summer.

Who decided that Lopetegui was an improvement over Steidten's choice of Amorim?
Who decided to let Steidten go after blaming him for 2 poor signings (Guilherem & Fullkrug) who are now regularly starting to feature well?
Who appointed Moyes as an upgrade on Pellegrini after rejecting him first time around?
Who appointed PL Champion Pellegrini and managed to turn him into a 2nd season failure so sacked him?
Who appointed Moyes for a 6 month save our season then decided he wasn't good enough so let him go?
Who appointed Bilic for a great season only to sack him 2nd season after letting our star player go?
Who made fans suffer 4 seasons of Sam Allardyce after promising a world class team in a world class stadium?
who appointed Avram Grant in preference to Zola who struggled his first season of management quite well without any money to spend?
You'd certainly want to sack the serial loser for such incompetence wouldn't you? Oh yes that would be David Sullivan...
This is why it all feels pointless. It really is all Sullivan's doing. I cant blame Potter for wanting a PL job even though he probably knows he's not good enough. I can only blame the person who hired a guy no one else would hire for years, because he's mates with the club managing director.
I have no hope of personally influencing the person who can solve all these issues, and no other fans seems to be able to do that either. So we just hope that something fortuitous happens.
The only hope I have is that Sullivans ego will not want yet another failed appointment and yet another relegation scrap next season and buys some seriously good players to bail Potter out form his inability to coach this side.
Potter doesnt deserve a spectacular transfer window. We the fans do. Potter no. He might get one because he's been so shit, which is the irony of the whole thing. But I will know when / if we do get some great players, any success will not be because Potter is a good coach. He's completely fluffed that audition over the last few months. I suspect he will be a lucky coach and not a good one, if he does survive.
