Fullkrug Speaks Out
Well dolne to the bloke. Unfortunately I didn't actually see his interview but imo he said some things that needed saying. There's clearly a divided camp and so I guess the question needs to be asked why the players who are, according to Fullkrug, not playing to instructions are still being picked.
As many people have pointed out before there is no relegation danger so there is absolutely no downside to throwing a few kids and squad players into the team and leaving out the offenders.. Alvarez was missing completely from the squad yesterday, as was Wan Bissaka. Apparently AWB picked up an in jury in training, which explains his absence, but Alvarez is apparently leaving cryptic messages on social media saying something like "all will soon be revealed". That suggests he may be one of those soon out of the door.
But it's good that someone has had the balls to speak out.. There's clearly a lot wrong and sweeping shit under the carpet has nevcer been the right way to clear up a nasty smell.,

Yes a good couple of seasons, and he was fun. However the last home game before he was sacked, losing 2-0 to Wigan, was probably the biggest pile of shit I ever saw in my life.

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
It's not that I disagree with what he said (I agreed with a lot of it and share his frustrations), I just don't think it was wise for him to come out and say it so publicly in the way that he did. A time and a place for me that should have remained behind closed doors.
The other issue I've got with someone like Fullkrug who's been at the Club for 5 minutes coming out and effectively burning down the dressing room with his public comments is he's barely contributed to anything of note for us in 2 different ways. He's barely scored for us in a number of appearances, as well as miss 19 matches through injury. Had he been playing regularly contributing to many points and/or banging them in left and right, then OK I can at least understand it's coming from someone who's heavily contributed well towards our season when very few others have. However that's not been the case at all and all it's likely to do now till the end of this sorry season is cause further division, as opposed to inspire a dressing room that's clearly a volatile weak one from earlier altercations and arguments amongst them earlier on in the season.
I also think his frustrations should be just as equally aimed at the manager as well as the player's as it was Potter who foolishly took off all our forwards at a crucial time in the game and effectively handed over the initiative to a piss poor Southampton side. Who then continued to attack us till the end before successfully achieving a draw thanks to Potters dence substitutions.

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
Great words from Sir Alf just now.
I think Fullkurg is bang on, the team have zero cohesion and unless we're playing a top 6 side we look like we just can't be arsed. We have players who are way too big for their own ego's (tbf most clubs do) but our in particular this season. I feel sorry for Bowen, he is clearly UCL material and seems a little lost as captain. The way Fullkrug has spoken out shows at least he either cares or he is canvessing for the role of club captain. Either way the players should listen to the bloke, stop fannying about and do as the manager has aksed them to. If not, pack up and fuck off!

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
Good to hear some honesty and frustration.
Part of a manager's job is to motivate players to "run thru brick walls" or "put everything on the line" making last ditch blocks, fighting for the ball and holding off the opposition when in possession, making and winning second balls etc. I just have not seen that under Potter and even less so under Lopetegui.
From the outside, it seems Lopetegui went for the confrontation approach, "hairdryer" in the dressing room and leaving players out or having bust ups. Potter has gone for the "softly softly" approach, build a team mentality, "we're all in this together", "work for the team" but personally I have not seen a West Ham side that is combative, really hard working since the first season or two under Moyes.
I guess "familiarity breeds contempt" and having multimillionaire players ( both first 11 and squad ) makes it harder to motivate them. Its why the rich clubs often bring in an ex player who has played at the highest level to get the respect of players albeit they often lack the other necessary skills ( communication, tactical awareness etc).
A wild guess, possible ( probably you say ) wrong, is that we have a few players who think they are too good to play for West Ham now we are out of Europe and relegation candidates once again ( Kudus, Paqueta, Alvarez maybe one or two more? ) and only one or two not doing what they are told is enough to undermine everything. They aint buying into the last 2 managers approach and only listened to Moyes as we were in Europe?
All the above ignores the fact that the squad has been imbalanced going back to Bilic and BFS, in terms of playing any other way than low block, survival football ( which was apt when we first got up) and only the emergence of Rice temporarily made us more than that and essentially in Moyes COVID season ( dont forget the influence of no crowds ) we were playing as effectively as Forest are this season.
In summary, its pretty certain Potter aint going anywhere until next season. So to me it makes sense to root out the players who think they are a cut above West Ham and get in young players who have something to prove, are developing. They might listen to his "come on lads try to do it this way", cajoling style. No certainty but the only way I can see things improving?.

Given that the club have posted his comments on the official site, it looks like those in charge agree with his remarks.

Being injured isn't a player's fault. Lack of application or failing to adhere to instructions is.

sorry if this has been said before but has anyone considered this to be a cunning plan to get a move away, especially as his form has been good?

Good that someone said what we are all thinking. They're mostly on the beach and not earning their massive pay cheques. Cunts. Potters fault? It is not good he cannot get them motivated. As we've been saying season over and this rubbish is not helping plan for 25/26.

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
Bowen's out for 7 days due to concussion protocols, the rest of the squad know who the new Daddy is and the cowardly Pottercunt never leaves his office again.
It won't happen Potter's already had them over his place for a soy quiche circle jerk.

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
The German is very experienced and has played at a good level. He clearly feels that on the pitch the team is performing below the level of its constituent parts. I hope that other players are annoyed about what has been said especially when they take on board the fact that most of us fans feel the same way as Fully.
Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
What happens if Bowen, as the appointed captain, calls out Fullkrug at training after being convinced to do so by the players who are guilty of what Fullkrug has said... And the big man sparks out Bowen in front of everyone?

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
I saw the clip where Pardew described Fullkrugs comments as ‘outlandish’
Reckon everyone at the game would describe them as long overdue, much needed & 100% accurate
Hopefully Monday morning training sees some players called out & the big German lays a few out

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
Apparently, the Wolves players had the same problem of not giving a shit/not playing to instructions under Gary O'Neill.
Looks like they didn't replace him with a flake, though.

If ever there was a man who needed to be found by the players (and their wives, allegedly) and asked to properly explain himself it's Chocolate.

Re: Fullkrug Speaks Out
It was good what he said, respect the bloke for that, he himself got some stick before/during the injury, mainly down to age and fee paid, personally think if he is here next season give him the armband? As much as i like Bowen its not always the best move to give your best player the captaincy and if anything, i get the impression Bowen likes to be everyone's mate and not rock the boat, so dishing out cuntings and kicking some arses may not be his forte!

stubbo wrote: ↑20 Apr 2025, 17:05 When Steidten signed Fullkrug he made clear he was not only signing a good player on the pitch but a personality that was needed around the Club and in the dressing room.
Seems like he was right. The injury thing has obviously destroyed his season , but the ability is clear every time he takes the field (every time he plays he's involved in clear goal scoring opportunities), and the personality is coming through the more he's involved.
Hope he sticks around for next season. We need characters like this around the Club to help drive standard higher.
Todibo himself even highlighted it in interview the other day...suggested anyone questioning Fullkrug didn't know what they were talking about because he was world class, had proven himself on the highest of stages and had nothing to prove to anyone, and the players could all see it and knew it too.
Yes, he's a serious pro and player with a pedigree of the highest level. A real shame he's been injured and let's hope he's here next season.
