Because Bonn had a Germanic history and traditions hundreds of years before Beethoven’s birth. Whereas Turks didn’t enter modern day Turkey until several hundreds of years after St George’s death. There was no ‘Turkish’ history or tradition where St George was born, until the best part of a thousand years later, with Beethoven it’s the opposite.
