I stumbled across this oral documentary today. Worth a listen. Brings back memories of the sound of Green Street on match day Made me feel a bit sad. Nice story about the nuns on the train with the West Ham fans, also the burger van that plugged into the church electricity. Queens market traders & Gary Firmanger feature.

Used to go to the one on priory road. The burgers had a greenish brown tinge to them probably due to what was mixed in, and occasionally you had to spit out a bit of bone but after a few pints they hit the spot. Can smell the stewed onions now.

Kens cafe burgers sold by the bloke outside with stubby dirty fingers.

A Stevie Bacon (rip) burger or mad dog with onions from the West ham forever burger stall in Priory road.

The smell of fish and chips emanating from the queen's fish bar as you emerged from Upton park tube.

A post game two and two with a  red counter for a cup of slosh to be brought over in Nathan's pie and mash.

A stroll down the Barking road for a pint in the Green Gate or Castle before moving on to the Black lion or Railway.

God I miss it

Good to see Ercons is still there on the corner with the mural

I actually loved those burgers.

Hooves and eyebrows may have been the main ingredients, but with the onions they tasted really good!
