Migraines
Anyone else suffer from them? I have since in was kid, but more recently they’ve ramped up and they’re more frequent. I get a whole slew of issues ranging from colour aura, blind spots, headache, numb arm and aphasia; though not all migraines are severe all of the time, they are always a massive inconvenience.
My only way around them is to sleep them off, because no medication works.

Maybe because I was less stressed ,was eating healthier, make of that what you will.
I feel for people who get them, they’re a bastard.
Up there with a tooth abcess chaps.
It's interesting how we as humans adapt to acute pain.
at first it's unbearable
..then you find ways of dealing with it
..finally you see it through.

But I rarely get them that extreme and most often it’s aura followed by blind sports and then a nasty headache.
Gank, I’m not jabbed mate.
Not jabbed....you have covid then!
Oh no! Am I gonna die? Tell Tiny Tim I won’t be home this Christmas.

I know more than a few of you have said you've suffered from them since being a kid, but it doesn't have to be the same stressful situation that triggers it every time - just that it was some sort of stress.
This, of course is probably of no help, because, from what I'm gathering from what is being said, when you're suffering, you're in no frame of mind to even think of a potential trigger, and probably too relieved once the episode is over to think back and try and work out what was going on immediately before the migraine struck.
A common management method seems to be isolation from external stimuli (sleep/dark room/etc), which may indicate that the cause is external, rather than internal, but to look beyond that, I wouldn't have a scooby where to start and can only hope that the attacks become less and less frequent for all of you.
For sure, possibly not directly although that on his own I think has triggered mine, but more stress can lead to worst diet, more drink, less sleep etc all triggers

Re: Migraines
I used to get them a lot when I was younger including auditory and visual hallucitations which included losing one side of vision (not one eye but the complete side as if there was a black wall running down the middle of my nose). That was followed by an excruciating headache so lying down in a dark room for the duration was the only option. Luckily I always got a warning as it started by feeling jumpy and discomforted followed by the onset of the hallucinations.
Haven't had one for 15 years now for which I am extremely grateful.

Re: Migraines
I get migraine with aura, starts off with jaggedy lines, a bit like this:

Then for about half an hour with blind spots like this:

When that goes I just get a mild headache for 24 hours. Had it for about 7 years, and get them every 6-8 weeks.

With the blind spots have a proper full on eye test which can pick up many problems early doors
I had a blurry spot in my right eye. Suddenly appeared 10 years ago. To cut a long story short, I had stupidly high blood pressure. 250/143 (should be about 130/70.
The BP was so high it had burst a blood vessel in my eye. Was fucking lucky it wasn't in my heart or brain.
The docs kept asking if I'd recently had headaches or migraines. I hadn't.
Get your BP checked.

I got tested on New Years days due to a migraine thinking it was a possible stroke, but a brain scan revealed my brain was fine.
I’ve had those symptoms since I was a kid, but explaining them it does seem worse than it is.

Re: Migraines
I used to have them terrible. I think I've grown out of it? but still a couple of times a year now
There was always a warning for me. Excessive yawning the day before. If you feel out of sorts for no reason, start on the paracetamol straight away.
Other triggers would be not eating until late. I'm not really a breakfast person but I try and have at least a banana. Avoid orange juice and brightly coloured drinks.
There used to be some over the counter medicine Migraleve, but it's not available where I live now
I take soluble paracetamol in the tiniest amount of water. And a small shot of coffee. If I can keep it down. And off to bed.

Re: Migraines
I find a double dose of sopadiene max soluble or migravieve and an hour in a dark room works but not always,
i once randomly had some wasabi while suffering with one and it went instantly which is unheard of for me, will def try that again if i get one while I've got some!

Haven't a scooby what causes them, no rhyme or reason.
Usually find a day in bed sorts it, and thankfully rarely lasts more than a day.
Same here. The only lingering feeling is it’s like a lump in my head, but only hurts when I move, so by tomorrow I’ll be clear of all symptoms.
I’ve had two at football - The first away at Spurs when Miaga scored the winner. Getting back to Bromley where I was living at the time wasn’t fun, and Palace after Carrol scored a bicycle kick.

I got them when I turned about 18 , I was lucky enough to suss that cheese such as cheddars were a cause . Dark chocolate can be the same but i think that depends on the amount of cocoa solids . I still get a couple a year but not bad and only headache strength really . No idea what causes them these days .
