Im sure he’d throw Brady under the bus a bit here.
I think it’s a suicidal business decision to let a person doing so poorly to give him the next season. There are no extenuating circumstances for potter. He has more available players than the last boss and is doing far worse than the guy you sacked!
potter is upset because he now knows he’s toast if he doesn’t not only get wins, but convincing wins with a good style of football at the same time. It’s not enough for him to scrape a few wins. He has to dominate teams. And he doesn’t know how to.
I think he’s toast tbh.
I fucking hope so

Yeah, best to persevere with a manager that has a 20% win ratio whilst all the pressure has been off and one that appears to be losing the dressing room that just culminated in our main big money Striker being dropped to a crescendo of disapproval from our Away fans.

He couldn't though that was his problem and why he flipped his shit so spectacularly. If he had done he would have had to admit that the result was largely down to his awful decisions before and after the game, yet again.
First he would have had to admit he dropped Fullkrug because of that honest post match interview and who is our main Striker available. Second of all his substitutions were just as bad that he thought it would be best to see out yet another game by bringing on a defender in Coufal out of position, even though for the sake of a few minutes he had Left Back Cresswell to choose from! It proves he learnt nothing from the previous game (and others) where by taking this defensive approach he dropped yey more valuable points.
What he should have done is been brief and give non-answers that deflect away as much as possible of what went on as he knew it was that bad. But what compounded it even more was the Press boys didn’t even go in ham on him. They gave him a fairly easy ride considering how bad he just fucked up and yet he totally exposed what a fraud he is.

But he just looks like he doesn’t know why things are happening. That’s the biggest problem.
the other thing I’m thinking is aren’t Brady and Sullivan really embarrassed when they have to sit amongst their peers? I’m sure they are one of the longest ownerships in the league coupled with owing a very well supported London club with a free stadium. And they keep getting it wrong! Like spectacularly wrong.
even when they get it right for a time with Moyes it’s like an accident rather than some plan. For a group that have been in the game for so long does anyone in the football world take them seriously? How can you learn nothing about the business your in but be in it for like 20 odd yrs?

Don't forget, we've also got to sign players who Kilman can play with, because apparently, he is only capable of playing with specific types of players.
Doesn't matter what they cost, they have to suit his style.

Re: Potter Out
The mythical 'rebuild' this Summer will be a thing to behold...given we're being told there is a 27m hole in forecast finances based on league places, we have no funds in reserve to go spend, and we're already 40m down with the payment for Todibo due this Summer.
So we're minus 67m before we spend a bean.
Good luck with a 'rebuild'...unless by rebuild you mean gutting and replacement with youth team 'prospects', freebies and inferior foreign journeymen?!

This guy has clearly done Sullivan up like a kipper.
Sullivan of all people!
Sullivan. The man who knows his football so well that he has dispensed with anyone and everyone at the club who might have a differing opinion from him on what the club/team needs.
With a Yo-Yo here, and a Yo-Yo there,
We'll do Yo-Yo's everywhere.
It's the WEST HAM WAY!!!

Re: Potter Out
So we've been in this league form rut since 2022 when we had been 3rd or 4th at one point iirc?. Moyes did have that little run of fortune before Xmas 2024 too ( dont time fly ) when we blagged some good away victories and results at Arsenal, Spurs with 30% or less possession, lots of help with woodwork, missed chances and VAR. That was the first half season after Rice left. He then had that spell last season, blagging a win now and then ( usually at home ) , when talk of the sack surfaced, to elevate us to 9th on the final day. However, we had mostly been around 14th and even below? and were 5 or 6 pts above in 9th courtesy of a couple of wins in the last few games. This was the same position as the previous season. So from 2022 no real progress, possession non existent, low block/quick counter tactics being effective in getting enough points and some alarming, embarassing thrashings by 4 and 5 with a -70 against goals total.
Only the European campaigns masked what was going on from 2022 - 2034 imo and many others too. Well the media didnt notice anyway. We make it clear we want better and Sullivan, against advice, appoints Lopetegui. That goes full blown "tits up" as we look a shambles, sliced thru by teams and losing again by 3, 4s and 5s in many games. But along the way, Lopetegui does see a few decent results if not performances and not without a smattering of good fortune ( Man U, Ipswich, Fulham at home all come to mind. Not sure how we didnt lose at least 2 of them). Lopetegui even had 130 million spent on the squad and the pick of 3 players he wanted. But essentially made no difference and made us shambolic in defence but with a lot more possession.
Now Potter comes in. Makes us a more organised defensively and no longer regularly shipping 4s and 5 goals, getting a lot more possession but absolutely toothless in attack. Must admit he aint seen as much good fortune as Moyes and Lopetegui did from teams missing loads of gilt edged chances and VAR saving the day but did naturally have a few just not on the same scale.
What do we do? How much is it the squad and it is a factor. Its criminally old and slow, lacking athleticism and pace. How much of it is simply down to Potter's tactical decision making or should I say starting 11 selections and subs? He was hamstrung early on by injuries to Summerville, Fulkrug and even Bowen for a short while. Lopetegui and he didnt have Antonio either.
Do we stick or twist? I simply do not know. We aint gonna get any manager we like are we? And they are gonna be available which means out of work. The squad, the changes attempted under Lopetegui and Potter in tactics and style dont work. Could someone else get them to? Maybe, but I keep feeling this squad of ours was moulded / built for low block, low possession and fast counter attacks. It was not rebuilt successfully last summer to play that way. Will it be this summer whoever is in charge? Perhaps we should double down back on Moyesball or its fashionable version Nunoball. Same basic tactics but with much faster and athletic players in midfield?
