I could accept that Lopetegui wasn't going to be the answer for us had he not got us firing in the 2nd half of the season and then it would have been an ideal time to sack him off and go for someone who would be markedly better than Norfolk radios finest. Now what we've done is confused the situation by either persevering with a total failure or the prospect of having to pay off 2 expensive years remaining on his contract so to bin him off.
The majority still think Potter is the messiah
take a look on Kumb, you’ll find such deluded comments as Potter is clearly doing a better job than Lopetegui and the fans writing off Potter are the worst in the league
When youve got fans as clueless and as unambitious as Sullivan it’s no wonder we’re getting what we deserve

Exactly. Zero fucking pressure or expectation and he's double parked the bus in 99% of the games. It's joyless

Re: Potter Out
Sullivan doesn't "do" ambition.
What (all) he does do is (hope for) continued PL survival.
If he can help his preferred agents/mates out every time then that's a successful season.

Re: Potter Out
He’s the new Glenn Roeder.
Even Roeder finished 7th in his first season, but it was a one-off. People outside West Ham wang on about Brighton under Potter. The highest they finished was 9th. A decent finish for a club like that, but they caught a lot of people unaware that season - like we did under Roeder.
His other full seasons at Brighton were 15th and 16th. He’s got us 17th after taking over when we were 14th. That’s his level.
We’ve got to be more ambitious than this fella. At best, we will drift along under Potter, boring the shite out of fans by playing five at the back even at home against the likes of Ipswich. At worst, we’re in a regular relegation scrap.

Re: Potter Out
I feel it is time to wake from my hibernation to contribute to this thread.
I wanted to like him. I wanted to get behind him. But I wasn't convinced because his CV reads fuck all. He at best had a couple of good seasons at Brighton but somehow is hailed as one of the brightest up and coming British managers in the game today.
After the Spurs game it is clear that Rodney is a total fraud. His football is dire and ineffective. It's dog shit football. He had a free pass this season to go all out and get the team firing and yes we might have lost more games but at least we would have seen some kind of Potter attacking imprint.
He is a cautious manager who will bore the club to death. If monster munch hands had any ambition or flair he would go and get someone like Gasperini from Atalanta and give the fans a rollercoaster ride if attacking all out football they'd never forget.
Potter will of course be given the chance to deliver miserable mid table shite next season with Sullivan's sons FC2026 summer signings so don't expect much to change between now and the next few mid table seasons.

It’s pointless speculating really although I suppose wishful thinking makes us feel better. Only positive thinking we can do is to hope we somehow have a good transfer window to start repairing what, for any future manager, is an old, slow imbalanced squad.
A good transfer window????
That would require Sullivan to avoid being done up like an kipper (again).
Given that he's the only one picking the players (on account of the fact that he's the only one signing the cheques), it's kippers all the way down.
Devereau and Son to become our stadium sponsor.
A pony on us getting relegated next term might go some way to soften the blow.

Re: Potter Out
Sorry, he’s just a shit, cheap, manager.
Lopetegui left behind a mess. And this guy has somehow contrived to make it worse by treading the same shit through the rest of the season.
He hasn’t improved us at all. Plonking an extra defender into a 5-4-1 is NOT improving us: it’s an easy, passive move that lacks all ambition and has made us even more toothless going forward.
Spend some money on a proper manager and some proper established coaches Sullivan.

That puts him joint 8th in the list of the worst Premier League managers ever, IF you isolate his time with us.
10) John Deehan (Norwich): 0.93 pts per game
9) Neil Warnock (Sheffield United, QPR, Crystal Palace and Cardiff): 0.93 pts per game
8) Steve Cooper (Nottingham Forest and Leicester): 0.93 pts per game
7) Steve Kean (Blackburn): 0.90 pts per game
6) Phil Brown (Hull): 0.88 pts per game
5) Chris Wilder (Sheffield United): 0.88 pts per game
4) Iain Dowie (Crystal Palace, Charlton and Hull): 0.81 pts per game
3) David Wagner (Huddersfield): 0.80 pts per game
2) Mick McCarthy (Sunderland and Wolves): 0.79 pts per game
1) Scott Parker (Fulham and Bournemouth): 0.77 pts per game
Yep and it's getting worse 0.5 points over the last 8 games... That's 19 fucking points next season if it carries on.

Re: Potter Out
We’ll lose to Man Utd and Forest, probably draw with Ipswich.
Then just sack him. He’s a joke. Forget his one-off 9th place with Brighton. His more regular Potter seasons have been 15th, 16th and, now, 17th.
He’s just a shit manager.

You said 3 wins + a draw with Forest. I know you’re thick joyo son so I’ll give you a few more attempts at trying to work it through.
The rest of your post makes zero sense you fucking oddball.
Potter is under huge pressure now, he looks more twitchy than joyo in a Cambodian orphanage.

Ipswich are a better team than us now.
They weren't even close when Potter took over.

Re: Potter Out
Couldn’t win home games v Southampton or Spurs reserves so you’d struggle to see wins in the last 3
Man U … players will be trying to impress to play in the Europa league final
Notts F…. still in the running for a Champions league place
Ipswich … will want to go out on a high in their last Premier league game

Re: Potter Out
Honest question, which game do you think we will next likely win, after being winless in the previous 8 in a row?
We couldn't even beat a relegated Southampton side at Home during that long run.
The only defeatist surrender monkey I see around here is Potter.

Re: Potter Out
When we talk about him actually trying to a win a game of Football - 9 games ago now the last time we did vs Leciester - his only successful wins were a jammy managerial bounce win against Fulham at the start, 1 against a shambles of a Team Leicester who everyone beats and the one decent result and performance against Arsenal's ten men. That's it, with zero pressure on him. Old Trafford Away next..
Re: Potter Out
What the fuck was that today? At home to fucking Tottenham and the prick sets up with a miserable fucking five at the back with the worlds worst signing in Kilman still inexplicably being picked. No intensity, no obvious plan, nothing. Respect the 17th place eh Graham? You fucking piss weak geography supply teacher cսnt.
Those fucking subs....how were they ever going to win the game? At least they didn't lose us the game like they usually do but for fucks sake, at home to Tottenham fucking reserves. They're fucking shit and they have rested players. No I think I'll respect the point to solidify FUCKING 17TH FUCKING PLACE IN THE FUCKING LEAGUE. What are you doing Graham?! Why dont you want to win football matches? Did you get your clearly worthless psychology degree from De Montford University or something? What's your record for consecutive wrong FUCKING DECISIONS? Wanker.
How the fucking hell have we lurched from Moyes, a fucking terrible manager, to Lopetegui, a fucking terrible manager that now looks borderline competent in comparison, to this fucking insipid, wet cardboard, beige, tesco value weak lemon drink cսnt we have now? More to the point how has the fucking idiot Sullivan gone from not rating Potter at all (probably his only correct thought in the last decade), to fucking employing the prick, seeing the disaster in action and then entrusting the lily livered prick and his silly little mate to rebuild us in the summer - with effectively just a year left on his contract, so absolutely no skin in the game, and with no experience of overseeing a rebuild in either of their so far pathetic careers? How the fuck has that happened?
We are double fucked and our only hope is that a large chunk of our rotting stadium made of recycled toilet paper and matchsticks falls off and takes out Sullivan, Brady and Potter in once 'tragic' accident.
What a load of fucking shit.

I’m all fairness we should have beaten Spurs today
