What is the format for PL2
There will be only one division made up of clubs with Category One Academies. At present there are 26 such clubs. Teams: Arsenal, Man Utd, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers, , Newcastle United, Brighton, Norwich, Chelsea, Nott'm Forest, Crystal Palace, Reading, Derby County, Southampton, Everton, Stoke City, Fulham, Sunderland, Leeds United, Spurs, Leicester City, West Brom, Liverpool, West Ham United, Man City, Wolves. Those teams will be divided into five pots based on performances over the past three seasons. Fixtures will be determined by a draw made according to clubs’ positions in the five seeded pots. There will be 20 Match weeks, with each team playing 20 regular-season matches throughout the season. Teams will play each club in their own seeding pot once, as well as three to five teams in all other pots either home or away. Results (three points for a win and one point for a draw) will generate a table ranking the 26 teams. After the regular season of 20 Match weeks has completed, the top 16 teams will qualify for a single elimination playoff. Teams will be drawn against each other based on their league positions, for example the team finishing first facing the team that finished 16th. These will be one-off elimination matches with the higher-seeded team at home. In addition, the teams finishing the regular season in the top 12 will be invited to take part in the next season’s Premier League International Cup competition.

Massive
Agreed, he'sbeen treated badly by Potter. Asked to do a job that is not his strength. Emerson is allowed freedom to go forward and creates zilch game after game yet some people think he is good. How many assists has he had for us ? Then when there has been a free kick set up for a left footer we see yet again JWP screw up another set piece. Again game after game since he's been here we hear commentators like Upson repeat the message that this set piece is "set up for the excellent JWP,he's done it before" no he frigging hasn't 1 set piece assist in 18 months. He must have taken 200 since then.

Why is that?
Rice was our "Once in a generation" academy product.
That means Sullivan sees all academy players while Rice is still plying his trade as simply assets to sell each year. Law of averages, innit?
Once Rice hangs up his boots is time enough to wait before we start looking to the academy for the next gem.

Totally agree.
If Potter can't see that then he can f**k off.
I'm bored with him as much as I was Moyes now. He's had enough games to bring them in now he's binned Scarles too.
Though I agree with your sentiments about Potter I think Scarles may have picked up an injury as he wasn't included in the squad for this game either.

The likes of Casey, Orford & others should be in the squad for the last 3 games
No point in putting players like Ings , Rodriguez & Ferguson who are being binned in ahead of them
Disagree, they should have already been available for selection. They aint there to support and supplement the stiffs, they are supposed to be there to support and supplement the first team in their crucial Development if they are ever going to make it. Keeping them in the Stiffs was a counter productive defeating the purpose exercise that Potter clearly didn't understand.
The likes of Casey and Orford haven't seen a Premier League Subs bench since Chelsea Away 13 games ago just as the window closed. All that time he could have used to blood them in gently but no, shunned for the stiffs never to be seen since during a time there was very little pressure in doing so.

What for ? to see the aged Coufal play at a snails pace and Emerson do f**k all game after game. He's up there with Mususaka with his unability to create, cross or score. Can't bloody defend either.
Man Utd will almost certainly palce their kids who are now getting valuable experience.

Re: Premier League 2
What shame. We had some brilliant unbeaten runs during the season. At little off the pace at the end. Forth in the league and quater finals in the play offs is quite excellent.

Re: Premier League 2
I know it would be great to win this cup but I would rather see Orford and Ajala be involved against Spurs.
They can't be any worse than the current team and bench.
who knows if the game is on Friday then Sunday would be fine.

Re: Premier League 2
ManU in quarter final and if we pass that Man City or Arsenal in the semi.
Quarter-finals (2-5 May)
Semi-finals (9-12 May)
Final (16-19 May)
There is nice road to final map thing in this link, which I tried to post here, but I cannot. Perhaps a mod can help out?

Re: Premier League 2
Ajala yet again stepping up to score in the 1st minute for the U21s from his U18 success day's ago. Orford too on the scoresheet. Still a great call to not include any kids today at all on the bench in the dead rubber Prem match as a 21yo scores a worldie for Brighton.

Re: Premier League 2
Our round of 16 match is
Sat 2025-04-26 15:00
West Ham United v Sunderland
Rush Green Stadium
Has to be said, I am disappointed it is at the same time as the first team play Brighton.
The other games are:
Crystal Palace v Brighton
Manchester City v Liverpool
Fulham v Nottingham Forest
Chelsea v Wolves
Manchester Utd v Everton
Southampton v Leicester City
Arsenal v Newcastle United
Games are extra time and penalties to determine who goes into the quarter finals.

Finished
PSG Espoirs 4-2 West Ham United U21s
Not a great result before the playoffs that start weekend of 26th April. We finished 4th in the league and have either Sunderland or Everton in the 16 team playoff.

Friendly, PSG Campus, Wednesday 16 April 2025, 11.30am BST
Apparently the club will put a live stream on the youtube channel, but I'll be dammed if I can find it.

Re: Premier League 2
Middlesbrough U21s 1-1 West Ham United U21s
Result from last night. That was our last Premier League 2 fixture and we now go into the playoffs to see who wins the competition. We are 3rd in the league, but there are still a few games tomorrow, Monday and Friday that may change our league position and who we have in the first playoff. We will definitely play at home as we are in the top half of the teams in the playoffs. The team we meet is decided by league position, so now we are 3rd and would play the team in 14th who at the moment is Wolves, but as I said positions may change as still some games to be played by other teams.
