Please release me let me go...

Post frank marker »

https://www.whufc.com/news/club-stateme ... ngs-depart

As mentioned briefly on the itk thread. Thought it deserved it's own thread. Somewhere for folks to heap praise or vent their spleen on four departing hammers. Anyone you'd keep?

We'd be stupid to sell him. One of the most important and rare Professionals we have who currently plays for us. You'll struggle to replace his commitment, not just the goals he contributes, as well as helping to keep the ball out of the other net as well. We would then wonder should we sell him as to why we have no leaders in the Squad to rely on.

Cresswell can fuck right off after the dismal Europa perfomance costing us a place in the final. We would have beaten Rangers in the final.

The only thing that made an astonishing comeback was his Turkey sponsored follicles, because it sure as shit was'nt his goalscoring form. Almost 1 goal a season! 🤣

£125k a week off the books I'm very happy about though. We must be saving around £300k a week on wages for just that lot so that it can be better wasted elsewhere now.
A bit harsh on Ings. Hardly played and put into a system which really didn't suit him or 90% of forwards. Never a back-up for Antonio. Bizzare purchase I guess in desperation.

Zouma now reported as being released this summer. That's another big salary off the books which is good. Must be over £400k saved from those being released now.

Cheers for the Trophy Cat Kicker 👏

Far too much was made of that and he made amends the very next season in Europe anyway. He was a virtual ever present in helping us get to a Europa League Semi Final and yet that's instantly forgotten for his mistake he owned. I've long forgiven him for that...

Sorry.  But I've never forgiven Creswell for getting sent off in the europa league not once but TWICE in 3 games, effectively ending our chances.

Regarding the players leaving coufal and fab solid professionals but too old now.  Inow.needs no comment.
And to be honest I wouldn't shed tears is any or all of our squad went.  Maybe bowen and awb, aside from that.  None of em.

Somethig is rotten in the club and a fresh start is needed.

Above all I wish sullivan would fuck off but he'll
probably survive till he's 300

Well I'm a big fan of his and value his long 11 continual years playing for us in the Premier League that culminated in helping us win a Cup as well. He's been a very solid dependable Left Back with 366 apps and 11 goals, 37 assists. He did have his limitations but overall he's served us very well I think. Very rare to see someone remain at our Club for over 10 straight seasons (and all at the top) and deliver on a consistent basis. And at times he had a wander of a left foot I enjoyed many a time.

Cresswell falls in to the same bracket as Antonio and Noble who have given their all and made huge contributions to the Club. He rarely let us down.

Never been a great fan of Cresswell. When we went into the London Stadium it showed his limitations playing on a bigger pitch he was unable to cover the ground and often got beaten by quicker forwards. He also has a very bad habit of passing backwards whenever he got the ball. He's not the only one that does it but with a team of that mentality is it any wonder we always get pegged back in our own half for such long periods.

Ings was always going to better in a front two. Definitely played that role at Burnley, can't remember at Southampton. Irony is in Potter's 352 or whatever it is he may have done ok. Certainly missed a trick not trying him an Antonio as a front two but Moyes never played two up top.

It was him or Zouma at the time...Moyes favoured Zouma.

Was ings another surprise gift from Sullivan ?

He came in and scored two against Everton if I remember rightly which helped us get our heads above water at the time

After that it was merely fleeting appearance off the bench although he was useful in some of the euro away games.

Big wages but he done his best when called upon

Compared to Kilman not a bad signing.

makes sense as we need more pace in the squad. Time for the youth to be given a chance but no doubt Sullivan will already have some dodgy deals lined up for players we've never heard of before. They'll come in and leave within a season or 2.

I suspect Aguerd will stay in Spain
Someone can give us £20m for him
Left footed centre backs are rare and that league will suit him better

just another in a long line of underwhelming signings that made no sense and end up playing hardly any football for us.

He did have plenty of time off  to get his barnet fixed so it hasnt all been a waste

If Potter really does have a whole new philosophy to instil then Aguerd might fit that perfectly. Given that Cresswell can only play left centre back in a five, that's Aguerd's natural position and I'm happy to give him a chance again, as long as he's up for it.
Still remember that tackle Aguerd made at St James park, he looked a really good player in some games.

Cresswell, Super Fab and Coufal have all been great servants to West Ham United I wish them all well in the future. Danny Ings not so good but, l still wish him well also. A chance to replace them with younger blood. Onwards and upwards Come on you Irons
