Remember seeing it on Tv and couldn't believe how quick it spread. Think John Helm was the commentator. From what I can remember many tried to get out at the turnstiles at the back of the stand but they were locked and there was a big wall at the front. Horrific tragedy but could have been worse if Bradford had had fences like Hillsborough and so many others. Think Terry Yorath was the manager and Gabby (Logan) his daughter was in that stand but I may be wrong.

I remember watching this live on TV. The old bloke on fire was horrific, but loads of people tried to put him out some throwing themselves on him, sadly he didn't make it. I remember the commentator being distraught saying "Oh that poor man."

It was still pretty chilling each time you watched it.

Started by an Australian putting a fag out.

Johnny Haynes at Fulham was the only one that remained as a wooden stand after as far as I know.

An induction for working in the response unit for security firms in football grounds and other large venues is to watch all the CCTV of this event.

Harrowing stuff.

I remember watching that. Never seen a fire before or after that more deserved being described as an 'inferno'.

RIP.

I remember that day - terrible disaster.  Should get the same annual remembrance as Hillsboro but it goes under the radar.

What's so heartbreaking about that list is groups with the same surnames. Probably grandads, dads and sons from the same family. Unimaginably life long pain for rest of the surviving family.

RIP.

The same day a Leeds fan died in some sort of football violence incident,  which would've been a much bigger story on any other day.
