WHUFC Man Utd vs West Ham | PL | 11.5.25 | Predictions & Match Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

A game not dissimilar to last week's encounter with Spurs, against a team that has had a terrible season by their standards.

There are many parallels to us, with them hiring a new manager that prefers to play a back 3, and it not going well at all...but with most of the fan base hanging onto the fact they're 'not his players'.

Sadly though one of either our opponents last week or this week will end up playing in the Champions League next season. Whilst we'll end up with a squad decimated by the loss of our saleable stars, punts on a load of unknown foreigners, journeymen, and lower league hopes, and Cock Piss Potter clinging to Premier League survival.

Anyway, this game...with Man Utd having played Thursday, we should have the edge in terms of energy, but at the same time they have a reason to stay sharp, and we have a squad more than likely already on the beach, along with on going rumours of squad friction and divide.

Prediction:

Away at Old Trafford, Potter's side are in an undesirable patter of draw-loss-draw-loss....and last time out was a draw.

So...predict a limp defeat here. 0-2.

Lineup.

At this point it feels somewhat immaterial who pulls on the shirt, but likely a lot will depend on if Paqueta is in the right frame of mind to play with more of his Kangaroo Court Case looming.
Areola

Todibo Mavropanos Cresswell

Wan Bissaka  Soucek. Paqueta. Emerson

Bowen. Füllkrug. Kudus
Feels like only two positions are debatable...does the error strewn 40m Kilman keep his spot over equally error strewn Mavropanos, and is Paqueta good to go.  Other than that the team looks like picking itself.

If we can be bothered, could take advantage of them today as all their focus will now be on their 'season saving' game.Cant see it happening tho, no doubt a soul destroying 0-0 will be celebrated by some at the club.

Before when Potter makes selection that look bizarre like this one I have tended to give him the benefit of the doubt and presume he has some method to what on the face of it looks like madness. But then the team goes on to perform exactly as bad as you thought that selection would perform. So I think we are going to get battered.

He’s got a left wing back on the bench too but goes and puts either Coufal or AWB there. I’m assuming it’ll be AWB considering Coufal’s most recent game changing sub appearance at left back.

I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or go and headbutt a lamppost

I think the wicked witch of West Ham has better make herself very scarce this week for pushing for this wanker to get the job on a TWO AND A HALF year contract.... 😶‍🌫️

That midfield makes me feel like I'm fast, and I recently turned 67. Maybe it's a cunning plan to get the chairman to cough up for a new midfield.

This lineup is possibly more depressing than a Moyes line up vs a ‘big’ team.

Absolutely fucking bizarre, I’d love to hear the thought process for this. Against a struggling team who have possibly the worst 2 keepers in the league. Mental.

Is he trying to get the sack or make some sort of point - not that anyone can figure out what that might be.

Here's a depressing thought, imagine how few goals and points we would have picked up under Partridge had Bowen not been available... 😬

We are absolutely the luckiest team in the league. If those 3 below us weren’t so unusually shit we’d be relegated. Our form is the worst I’ve seen for us with no real reason why? No massive injuries more than any other club. Some very expensive international as well.

If Bowen got an injury we would have even less points this season. I don’t understand how anyone thinks keeping this manager next season makes sense?

and the worst thing about him is that he he talks a good game. Seems like a guy that talks sense and you sort of warm to him a bit even when you didn’t think he was that good.
A classic grifter this one..

Wow. That might just go down as the worst team selection I have ever seen a West Ham manager make.

I don't care if we somehow shithouse a win, that selection is a dereliction of duty.

Is there still anyone left wanting to give this fucking clown a summer pre-season and his own transfers?

I don’t think I will bother watching. Fucking Rodriguez in midfield. Why? Probably the slowest most immobile midfield we’ve ever had. Starting with no strikers. No youngsters on the bench.

Here Man Utd - have the game.

he should be sacked just for the treatment of scarles, completely sidelined him after struggling against a player 99% of left backs have struggled against. this northern fucking fraud is clueless. AWB or Coufal out of position, Soler/Paqueta/Alvarez on the bench instead of starting, Fulkrug still being punished and still wasting a bench spot on the Brighton attitude problem. what a circus

I honestly don’t understand what this coach is trying to do. Does anyone? Back 5 and no striker?
Every game he seems to start with this setup designed to hold the ball in unthreatening areas, expecting wonders from Bowen and Kudus. He then eventually puts a striker on and swaps a defender for a more forward mid because he’s inevitably chasing a game.

never wins, gets a draw. And that’s it.

His only hope is a weakened side from the opposition as they have something to play for.

What is he learning from this?
