WHUFC Man Utd vs West Ham | PL | 11.5.25 | Predictions & Match Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

A game not dissimilar to last week's encounter with Spurs, against a team that has had a terrible season by their standards.

There are many parallels to us, with them hiring a new manager that prefers to play a back 3, and it not going well at all...but with most of the fan base hanging onto the fact they're 'not his players'.

Sadly though one of either our opponents last week or this week will end up playing in the Champions League next season. Whilst we'll end up with a squad decimated by the loss of our saleable stars, punts on a load of unknown foreigners, journeymen, and lower league hopes, and Cock Piss Potter clinging to Premier League survival.

Anyway, this game...with Man Utd having played Thursday, we should have the edge in terms of energy, but at the same time they have a reason to stay sharp, and we have a squad more than likely already on the beach, along with on going rumours of squad friction and divide.

Prediction:

Away at Old Trafford, Potter's side are in an undesirable patter of draw-loss-draw-loss....and last time out was a draw.

So...predict a limp defeat here. 0-2.

Lineup.

At this point it feels somewhat immaterial who pulls on the shirt, but likely a lot will depend on if Paqueta is in the right frame of mind to play with more of his Kangaroo Court Case looming.
Areola

Todibo Mavropanos Cresswell

Wan Bissaka  Soucek. Paqueta. Emerson

Bowen. Füllkrug. Kudus
Feels like only two positions are debatable...does the error strewn 40m Kilman keep his spot over equally error strewn Mavropanos, and is Paqueta good to go.  Other than that the team looks like picking itself.

I reckon they've both won their last game already in the League. 21 losses for Spurs and 18 losses for Man Utd in the Premier League setting Club records in the process.

Premier League, you're having a laugh 😆

A win in either of our last two and they are consigned to 16th and 17th.

Fucking hell, Man Utd and Spurs are having a mini competition between themselves to see who can out-cսnt the other in the League, to go along with their other goaless results in their last match. 2 shots on target between them in both games tonight. 🥱

The Europa Final is destined to be a rip roarer of a game at this rate.

A good win and probably our best performance so far under Potter, could have been could have 3 or 4 in the end. Despite the opposition being really poor, could we have seen the beginning of the Managers master plan for next season?

Just saw a video of the play leading up to our first goal on Sunday. 30 passes in a row in the build up.
Not saying we should be talked about like Barcelona or anything but you can bet had Man City or Liverpool done that, they’d have been wanking themselves dry over it on MOTD.

Fine win. Nice to see us above ManU and Spurs. Hope we can maintain that.

Will be having a beer or two with a couple of absolutely entitled Man U fans this Thursday.

These are both older than me and the only live games they've ever been to are closed-season exhibition matches where they live in Thailand.

Even on those matches, they fully and genuinely expected "their" team to just turn up and be awarded the game.

In fact, they're both so obsessed they won't even talk about football  unless it directly involves Manchester United and really & truthfully can't understand why the rest of football is being "so downright disrespectful" to their beloved Red Devils.

Even shitty Thai beer will taste sweeter this week...🤣🤣🤣🤣

You know fuck all about me or what I think so get down off your pedastall.
Did you have a day off from selling cheese over Tottenham today or are you staying true to form and lying your arse off again?

Start showing a bit of respect to fans who actually follow the team by going to the games.

I wasn’t at the lane today, I was actually at OT.

When a manager is openly saying he has thrown the towel on the PL and it's all about the Europa final then hardly surprising his players don't respond in a PL game, so nothing much to see here, mind you i would be livid if i was a ManU fan in attendance, paying good money to watch that shit unfold.

No doubt WHU and Sullivan will be working on the T-shirt and merchandise to celebrate (flog at outlandish prices to mug fans) this win against the odds by the brave and fearless Hammers over the mighty ManU🤣

But glad we won, we did look ok, but i think that's more down to the opposition than a big improvement from us, need a proper test for that!

That's actually quite an interesting conundrum because Ligue 1 would be rightly up in arms if Nice was overlooked for a more traditional mega money Club instead who finished just above the relegation zone as they could end up in the top 4. Premier League as it is has the top 5 now qualifying which us ridiculous, so how unfair would that look to award Man Utd with Champions League..

Has there been any definitive answer on what will happen should it transpire?

Would be somewhat amusing if true but I read somewhere earlier that even if United win the Europa League they may not be allowed in Champions League because Jim Ratcliffe also owns a stake in Nice and rules apparently state you can't own a stake in two clubs in the same competition.

Just back and really enjoyed today. We dominated the game and that’s probably the easiest we’ve had it there in decades, and unlikely it’ll be that easy again. However, they are shit and as much as I enjoyed today it’s not a signal we’ll be playing in the Champions League anytime soon.

Two more games to go and this shit season is over. Come July I’ll be salivating over the prospect of some half decent pre-season domestic games and the season starting.

The cute finish too was excellent, considering he's apparently just good with his head. The way he ghosts in to the box as a Midfielder is very reminiscent to what Lampard Jnr used to do. Times his runs perfectly. Almost 10 goals again for a Defensive Midfielder is outstanding.

It's a classic paper-over-the-cracks result if you don't put in to context just how bad Man Utd are these days in the League. Lost at Old Trafford this season to the likes of us, Wolves, Bournemouth, Spurs, Forest, Palace, Brighton, Fulham in the Cup. Going to Old Trafford has lost it's fear factor it used to enjoy under Ferguson and you could yet again hear a pin drop, even though they just reached a Cup Final. Their Home form now is almost worse than ours! We did what we had to do and deserve credit for it but in the wider context of things it's a timely brief reprise to give the long suffering Away fans something to finally cheer about.
