NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Not sure if it's two or three games. They seem to be punishing your boys with that early part of the schedule. A really tough start

It leaves us with 36 year-old Tyrod Taylor as back up to Justin Fields, although Tyrod is reliable. So we might need to pick up a QB in free agency, or trade for one (using late-round picks) before the deadline next season.

Jordan Travis, the Jets QB drafted in 2024, has retired after failing to recover from the horrible leg injury he suffered in his last game for Florida State.

Big talent, and such a shame. Also a sharp reminder that your college or NFL career can end in an instant.

He took a calculated risk by drafting him in round 5 of last year's draft, despite his injury. In Jets fashion, it has backfired! But I'd say he was worth the risk. We'd only have wasted that pick on a shit kicker (or maybe a shitkicker) anyway.

Feel for that kid, as he was more talented and harder working than most QBs we've had in recent years.

He looks like a very interesting player indeed.
I can think of a few ways he could make a career in the NFL.

“Tough, physical, violent, aggressive and resilient.”

Aaron Glenn telling journalists about the characteristics he looked for in every draft pick.

Definitely went for a bunch of youngsters who look like they’ll punch and run their way through brick walls. No whining, cotton wool Zach Wilson’s this time around.

The 6-5, 300-pounder also had offers from Ohio State and Syracuse.

Definitely a kick returner in the style of his new head coach, and could even become an excellent slot receiver. Definitely opens up the field.
one of our better fan channel creators is a georgia fan and talked about him a lot in his pre-draft shows. said he had limited opportunities due to the talent around him but shone when given the chance in 2023, but for some reason didn't kick on last year but he was still a believer and wanted us to take him in the later rounds. just said he needs a bit of work on his technique (catching), but the athleticism is up there with the best
Yeah, sounds spot on. I’ll take that risk with a 4th rounder. His acceleration/speed is something else. At least this version of the jets took the (calculated) risky pick with a late rounder and not a top-ten choice like so many times in the past.

Elsewhere, there were some really good solid receivers and linemen in the late rounds. Quite a few teams drafted excellent guards, which is what you should do.

I’m sure that not all of the Jets’ draft picks will “make it” - that’s rare. But happy with the way they selected this year. Good, solid prospects. Some risks - all college kids come with a risk - but no obviously mad over-reaches, and a focus on the meat and bones positions (trenches, blocking etc).

I'll admit the receiver we took I missed when researching players, but he's an athletic freak and went to college locally. I'm hoping we take a particular kicker (Fitzgerald) with one of our remaining picks

that skattebbo pick is interesting. he's a decent back👍
I'm happy as Larry. Miike. Even that shit show on the south coast can't put a dent in my mood tonight. We having a cracking draft. You can't be too upset either mate.?
