I chef in a tourist town so will only get away for 4 or 5 days max in the Summer. Probably alicante city or fuseta portugal. Bit of sun and bring a few nice bottles and delicacies home.

honky cat" wrote: ↑07 May 2025, 15:57The funny thing is of all the holidays listed here, driving around Ireland for a week is probably the most expensive. The place is an absolute money racket. And then its pissing down most of the time. The last couple of weeks have been gorgeous, though. The drive - wild atlantic way - is worth doing but just avoid dublin. Its a shithole.
Second that - the atlantic way is nice, Galway area especially. Rains a shit ton tho
Re: So where's everyone going on holiday?
are you flying into Bari or Brindisi?
I would say Gallipoli, Polignano a Mare or Otranto.
You could stay in Lecce and prob visit all of those, but Lecce isn't on the beach.

Mrs oi fancies Puglia, I’ve got no idea where to stay. Anyone been? A sandy beach in the day and a bustling town in the evening would be just the job. Hot tips much appreciated.

I've signed up to go on one of those Bezoz' "space flights" then I'll be able to call myself an astronaut.

Re: So where's everyone going on holiday?
Wife and kids are off to Nova Scotia to see wifes sister in August. I can't join them, had a major operation and artery replaced in my leg this year and long-haul is not recommended until the blood flow is improved and I have an angioplasty booked for next week.
I may drive over to Normandy for a few days while the wife and kids are away or fly over to Albania again.

Yeah, he should drive around poverty-stricken Southern Italy instead!
Re: So where's everyone going on holiday?
Be honest, you couldn’t afford to go anywhere nice so you’re driving round Ireland. You absolute tramp.
Re: So where's everyone going on holiday?
Was thinking of returning to the States and maybe the pre season tournament but I'm not going to spend a cent there while that moron Trump is in charge
Probably do West coast of Ireland instead...Galway,Mayo and Donegal as great driving countryside

Parga in Greece end of May with family.
Marbella in August for holiday / wedding.Parga is on our list to visit, done lots of the islands but not the mainland, and Parga looks spot on.
Yes mate. The missus spotted it. We have done loads of islands. But when she showed me Pargas we loved the look of it. We originally was going Seville and then to Marbella but missus said it was a long time to wait for some good weather. We have only gone apartment with a pool and does breakfast only. We have told the kids its not going to be extravagant - No entertainment, no pool games, no games rooms etc etc. Little bit more back to basics and bit more traditional.
I will let you know what its like.

Already did Tunisia last month. Looking at Ibiza in July and somewhere else Sept/Oct.
Probably a city break at some point too.

It certainly is mate, its Mrs V's favourite. They do a cracking seafood risotto, and its a lovely spot on the harbour.
