One episode into A Murder at the End of the World. Very impressed. Has 4 of my favourite actors in it as Emma Corrin, Brit Marling, Clive Owen and Alice Braga.

The Day of the Jackal, alongside The Penguin is the best show I've watched for some time. OK it wasn't perfect, but found it fast paced, stylish, and with some good characters. Bring on season 2.

Plodding on with Mobland each week, I really like it. Will give This city is ours a go at some point.

Looking forward to seeing the latest Mobland episode tonight. After the ending of last episode I'm expecting some real fireworks.

Absolutely Alfs.
Up til then, US cop shows were heavily sugar coated and sometimes cringe but HSB stripped all that away and changed police shows forever.
Still available now on Ch 4 catch up channel.

Zico.

NYPD Blue was excellent  quite gritty for it's time.
If you remember 'Hill Street Blues' then it's a similar vibe only set in New York rather than LA. Some great storylines and it wasn't afraid tobshow the sleazier side of some in the force. Cant speak for Blue Bloods as  never saw it but I would highly recommend NYPD Blue.

Stumbled across a couple of videos on You Tube that showed clips of the old show NYPD Blue and another one Blue Bloods.  Not sure why I never watched them first time around but are they worth watching now or would they be a bit dated?  I see there are seasons galore so would be a long watch!!

I see you finished it.  Is it worth sticking with, I'm 3 eps in?
I would say just about, yes. The story starts to expand out a bit, even gets slightly complicated (to me anyway) so it isn't just a crew of lunatics chasing the pair of them. Other characters come into it, including Ray's stepmother and old man.

I didn't clock until near the end that Manny is Pablo Escobar in Narcos.
I’ve really enjoyed Dope Thief. It’s pretty well written and well acted. It’s probably the best new show this year.

The Studio is good as well, despite not being a big fan of Seth Rogan, and it being a bit of a copy of Entourage.

The second season of the Last Of Us is proving to be garbage , but it’s source material was always going to make it that way.

The Righteous Gemstones final season is one of the only other notable things to watch.

Just finishing the second series of Black Snow. Its not too bad, but the lead character cop is badly modelled on Riggs from Lethal Weapon

Swiss. wrote: 25 Apr 2025, 11:07 Daredevil was a massive disapointment. Bascially nothing much happened over 9 episodes. I was actually waiting for episode 10 then realised it had finished.
Lol, I did something similar to that once.

Dope Thief is a decent watch. Might start Day of the Jackal, seems to have mixed reviews but I loved the film so will give it a try, I see it's been renewed.
The Jackal is excellent. The first 2 episodes are probably the worse so stick with it as it builds up. Cracking soundtrack as well. 8/10 on IMDB. Should have won over Shogun as best TV series at Golden Globes.

However it's totally unrealist that a ginger can get a babe as hot as Ursula Corbero :-)

Due to extreme pressure from my youngest Son, I started 'the last of us' last night. Got halfway through an episode and couldn't understand the storyline at all until I discovered that I was watching episode 1 of series 2. 🤣🤣 No need to call me a fucking idiot as my boy hasn't stopped since I told him.
Started again and I'll stick with it for now.
Will start mo land and will give dopethief a look over next couple of days.

Got around to watching Adolescents after initially giving it a swerve!

Thought it was very well made and acted, had read about people crying at the end or being moved so much it changed there lives🤷‍♂️ but i think that's just the buzz word and reaction from the "in crowd", so was disappointed with the ending, if you could call it that? and NO it made fuck all difference.

4 episodes was just about enough, but i wouldn't say it's a classic, worth a watch but not on my favorites list

Finished American Primeval and thought it was excellent, real gritty with the depiction of the frontier in Utah in 1857 and great cinematography, fuck those Mormon radicals and militia where a bunch of cunts! The series is loosely based on real events, pity its only 6 episodes.

highly recommended.

Yeah what a great scene that was. Great unique entertainment as apposed to Tom (I'm such a hammy hard man) Hardy telling everyone he's gonna break their bones etc etc.
Did you like Tom Hardy in Legend?
He's good in Warrior. Believable Yank accent as well.
Had never heard of that, got good reviews.
