Boro fans are delighted that Carrick's gone.  That in mind, I'll stick with Potter.

Definitely have him over Potter. He knows what the Club is about, believes in youth and would unite most of the fanbase I suspect which I think the Club is badly crying out for, now more than ever. I can't see him doing a worse job than Potter. If the choice is between Potter and Carrick, it's Carrick all day every day for me.

When he was at Chelsea and they were doing shit he basically said nothing. Is he on beta blockers?
the most impressive thing about him is how little he seems to panic or actually solve problems even when he’s drowning. Probably not the guy you want near any emergency whatsoever.

I’m really really hoping that he as explained to the board why his methods have brought no fruit in 6 months and he knows exactly what needs to change in the summer to bring success. From where I’m sitting I can’t see anything but disaster next season. But maybe I’ve missed some detail that only he and the board understand.

fingers crossed.
The signs have not been good. but we have to hope we hit a positive reset next season, if for no other reason than because we have no choice. Positives are, we can see how he wants to play by pressing teams more, he just does not have the personnel and pace, especially in midfield to make it work. Any manager is going to struggle with the slowest and oldest squad in the PL He also took a while to get Brighton playing the way they did under him. Any manager deserves time and a chance to bring the players in he thinks will improve us.  Like Man Utd though, we have burned countless millions on under par players and not fixed crucial gaps in the squad, and like them we are Skint so don't hold your breath. Reading that we may be looking to bring Antonio back in is just the type of stuff I'd expect from Sullivan and co.

I AM very concerned that despite the managerial changes we have gone so far backwards, and his team selections and use of subs has been mystifying at times. I can only think he has wrote the remainder of season off as a competitive concern and is just trying to find out if he has a core of this squad he can work with next season and who we need bring in.

The Team won't see that money, so what's the point? It'll go straight to the likes of Sullivan. So fuck cheering for them unlikely gaining £1.7M a place right now. It's a mere drop in the ocean that will only benefit them, not the Team. The last few weeks have been an ideal time to experiment for Footballing reasons. And it's not like by playing our best week in and week out has made a blind bit of difference with us still hovering just above the relegation zone. But of course, that doesn't appeal to the management, only the bottom line... 💩

I understand your frustration, MA, and like you, I wish that we had decent owners.  But we don't.  That aside, they are running a business and it would be foolish to piss 3 million up against the wall in order to play an experimental team.

Potter confirms he won't be trying out any other players (presume new Academy players) or try something different. Instead he would rather concentrate on trying to win a meaningless match and being consistent with what they've already done i.e. 1 win in the last 10 matches...

When the Reporter opened up the press conference by saying last game to go and how he'll miss them 🤞 it's permanent..

I can see Zirkzee as a spearhead of a team challenging for promotion from the Championship. In which case Man U need to hang to him for the season after next.
