Ipswich Vs West Ham | PL | 25.5.25 | End of Season Predictions and Match Thread
So...finally this drab shitter of a season draws to a close. Away at the Tractor Boys to wrap up.
Lopetegui...a blinking incoherent mentalist. Potter...like the monotone Geography teacher in the worn out grey blazer...uninspiring , and just dull. Sullivan as ever the goblin at large, making success by design an impossibility
So good fucking riddance 24/25...on to what almost inevitably will be a relegation battle next season. But first, let's turn over this mob.
Prediction: 1-2 West Ham...Guilherme off the mark. Fullkrug to score and then give Potter the bird. Kilman own goal to compound his form drop off in the second half.
What say the rest of you fucktards? COYI!

Maybe he knows it’s been an underwhelming season. Why didn’t Ward-Prowse do his golf swing after his goal? Why didn’t Bowen do his knee slide? It must be because they don’t care and want to leave.
I recognise that description of him. I interpret his sit down celebration to be arrogant. Combine that with his lack of tracking back and what appears to be poor team work it's easy to see why some might see him as arrogant. He doesn't show much interest in the team or club in general. As for petulant, many of the reports in the press after his display at Tottenham used that exact word...
But Kudus was too greedy at other times and displayed petulance when he was dismissed in the 86th minute. - the Times
They face being without Mohammed Kudus for those fixtures after his petulant red card against Spurs. - The Guardian

Yeah that had me scratching my head also.

Probably hangs onto the ball a bit longer then necessary is because he thinks by passing to some of our team they’ll only miss control it and give it away.

Kudus is undoubtable a special player. However; he comes across as, petulant, arrogant and totally fucking disinterested in playing for us. Barely bothered to celebrate his goal and just looked pissed off. Unless Potter can persuade him that there will be huge changes in personnel and style he'll be gone. Frankly he wants to go. £85 million + please...

Re: Ipswich Vs West Ham | PL | 25.5.25 | End of Season Predictions and Match Thread
Kudus has spent the vast majority of this season on the left, where he is pretty ineffectual. He can't make runs the way he wants to and can't find space to shoot either. If a player gets regularly played out of position and he's not able to adapt to it then inevitably it's going to lead to low confidence, poor form and probably a bad attitude as well.
Shame that our current manager can't find a way to play him and Bowen together effectively because those two are streets ahead of our other players and the only ones who are exciting to watch when they're on the ball. As it is we'll probably sell him this summer for less than he's worth and have to watch him tear it up at some other club.

Re: Ipswich Vs West Ham | PL | 25.5.25 | End of Season Predictions and Match Thread
Kudus needs to evolve his game to succeed at the very highest level imo. His strength in possession and ability to carry the ball are what has got him this far. A decent left foot too but to be a top player at a top club he will need to improve his decision making but also his passing. Teams now close him down wirh often 2 players as they try to stop him turning so he needs to add 1 and 2 touch passing to his game rather than always receiving and trying to turn. His other and biggest problem is out of possession. Anonymous at times, does not put in the yards or help the team enough with pressing, tracking and the less eyecatching parts of the game. Needs to add more of that imo
Re: Ipswich Vs West Ham | PL | 25.5.25 | End of Season Predictions and Match Thread
Agree that Kudus often tries to do too much, I don’t think the problem is with him.
Because of the way we set up he’s often isolated and surrounded by defenders.
I have no doubt he will be sold in the summer to raise some funds.

The idea we can improve by selling our best players is fucking insane.
Spot on. He’s been one of our better players over the last three months, but because we’ve not been winning everyone keeps coming out with this bollocks. If anything, he’s been trying too hard and this has affected his decision making. Maybe he does want to leave, and maybe we should cash in, but don’t assume we’ll replace him with someone better

He’s one of our most talented players. But he’s absolutely not playing up to the level of it. And if he was he’d be first on the team sheet every week. He’s half arsing it and he’s out of here at his first possible opportunity this summer.

I think the driver is to engineer a move to a CL team or a place to earn crazy money. It’s certainly not to give their all week in week out for West Ham. Especially Kudus.

Good player, but makes poor decisions in front of goal. Shows no interest in west ham and probably never has done. A stepping stone to the next place. Which probably applies to many players, maybe even Bowen? But at least they can get it together to smile and act nice while they're here.

This isn't meant to be disparaging on the English player, but he's found a home with us now and only the English clubs with a quota to fill would pay massive money to get him and even then he has more to lose than most by leaving. Kudus is younger, better in many ways (admittedly not all ways) and is Dutch-Ghanaian without a celebrity West Ham father in law, there's no huge pressure on him to stay and he deserves better than us. When fans criticise him for WANTING better than this, it justifies his attitude.

High-fives around the boardroom for meeting the business requirements (maintain PL status).
High-fives amongst the directors (bank accounts) for finishing 3 places higher than needed. Ching-ching.

Winning 3-1 away from home is always nice, but lets face it, it was papering over the cracks as against a pretty shit side when it comes to the PL!
We finish 14th which IMO flatters us and makes it look not as bad as it has been.
Lets see who we can recruit in the summer and if Potter can somehow muster and motivate more out of our lot (and himself) and next season gives us some joy.

Dismal, from start to finish. Saved only by the fact that some of the worst teams ever to grace the top division we’re even worse than us.
Two absolutely clueless managers. In-fighting in the squad, which somehow also included a bunch of disinterested muppets, a “star” player clearly distracted by a potential ban, a large group of slow and poor granddads on mental wages, a striker hell bent on driving into things, and some of the worst loan signings in recent memory (Wayne Quinn eat your heart out).
That was even more dire than Danny himself.
See you in August.
Aside from the season under Bonzo with Mike Small up top it's the worst we've served up for sure .

Yep, we did our best to help them out. It's shocking.
Fwiw, I suspect he will stay as sacking the manager who has just won you your first trophy for 17 years and first in Europe for 41 would just look too fucking weird, but I suspect they will be making a similar mistake to what Man Utd did with Ten hag.
