Re: WHO Fund - 2023 Update and changeover
Hello WHO persons,
I'll get to the point.
I am currently sitting on £1475.06 for the fund but spend next to no time here and have every intention of spending less time on here from now on. This means I do not have my finger on the pulse for wreaths and flowers etc etc so it really is time to step down.
Two obvious options present themselves
1) A more active volunteer is appointed with Site Admin blessing and I transfer all monies and access to the GO fund me page to them and go on my merry way.
2) I close the go fund me and we have a poll on where the money should be distributed, I execute the results, provide proof and go on my merry way.
I will write to SA now to let them know.

Re: WHO Fund - 2023 Update and changeover
Hi Happy and all, yes apologies not really been on the site much these days but have been keeping tabs with Charley so be assured that there are checks and balances and every in is logged and every out considered.
The outs as loans is sometimes a slight misnomer as it is often, but not always a payment out on the understanding that people will pay it back if they get back on their feet and, as can be seen elsewhere people have contribute with their time.
Who gestures are payments for flowers wreaths, cards and to charities that WHOers are raising money for.
As you can see we went a bit lean before Christmas but one Whoer who did take some loans did indeed, pay it all back when they got themselves straight. Then again in the last 15 months some of the 'loans' have been to help people feel seen and pull them back from the abyss
Date Description In Out Balance

Sorry I am late, they are taking security quite seriously that's my 3rd cavity search in three days and Stubbo marked his run up from down the corridor.
The fund lives, will post an update befitting the new start tomorrow evening
Kind regards
MPI
It's been a long time since any update.
Are funds still in good shape, or, are donations needed?

Re: WHO Fund - Update 3rd July
"RootsRadical 2:45 Tue Aug 6 Although any extra money they may (or may not) offer would always be welcome, I'm sure, I wouldn't let the club and it's management structure anywhere near the fund with your barge-pole, let alone mine; not only will they want some say in who gets helped, they'd also be looking at monetising their involvement somehow. Additionally it may then need to be registered as a legal charity to function under such an arrangement Also with more people finding out about the fund, there'll suddenly be loads of new ""I've been reading the site since the dot com days but never bothered registering until now (Oh, and I urgently need a bag of sand - can you help me out?)"" types appearing. Doesn't appear broken, so no need for a fix. Sorry, but a big no from me!"

"Keep up the good work chaps ?üëç?üèº A glimmer of light in a sea darkness, the fund must be pretty unique these days. I did once make a tiny donation and would do again if / when I'm in a position to do so. Has anyone ever asked the club to donate? Who would be the best person to approach?"

"67 - Nice one mate, really pleased for you. Certainly worst places than Canterbury to reside too. Not so long ago I run into an unexpected bad situation myself and the WHO fund also gave me some assistance that I was very grateful for. it's a real ''thing'' and can be a lifesaver. Many thanks to Charley and MPI for doing what they do with the fund and also for making it as 'pleasant' and as seamless as possible when one reluctantly comes cap in hand, not to mention the discretion shown. Thanks again and long live the fund."

Re: WHO Fund - Update 3rd July
"Chim, Thanks for these words, Charley and I do, occasionally, fret over decisions we make together, we are acutely aware it is other peoples money, and what on and how we use the money for has evolved and become more complex and not always easily explained without giving away some confidences that are involved. This weighs heavy when we over think it, I have recently reached out ot a few WHOers to discuss this in the round and the sage advice included when people give money to charities do they expect to know how their money was spent? The manager (And Excel freak) in me wants to be forensic but I know deep down that we are trusted and the effort we put in appreciated. It's always nice when the benefit, feel good factor and pride of the use is clear cut, immediate and apparent but it doesn't always work out that way."

Re: WHO Fund - Update 3rd July
"You know there's no real need to be held by account to us Moncs as you're as honest as the day is long. I doubt anyone on here could even imagine anything that you do you do with complete wholehearted empathy. If anyone was to take the piss and take advantage of you (and by extention us) the shame would be poured on them, not you, Charlie or whoever else you involved in the decision making. Never underestimate the highest regard we hold you in. The WHO fund is one of the best things this site ever did and I am very grateful that you choose to be the custodian, as do most people. It can't be easy dealing with Hammers on the bones of their arses. I don't think I could do it, making judgement calls about the extremely broad church that populate this site but I am glad that people like you and Charlie step up to the plate. I'm sure most of us feel the same x"

Sunday 19th May Arsenal 16:00 Everton Brentford 16:00 Newcastle United Brighton and Hove Albion 16:00 Manchester United Burnley 16:00 Nottingham Forest Chelsea
