Champions League Final

Post Sydney_Iron »

After this then the season is all done! sort of............🙂

Im on the fence as to who i would want to win, Inter for the way they played those 2 semis against Barca, but although PSG is billionaire Arabs plaything that wins the French league every season, they have never won the CL, so let's hope for a good game more than anything.

See Milan have announced they will be wearing a gold strip for this game🙄 its their 3rd strip apparently and more bright yellow than gold but FFS, i know its Paris and Milan the 2 fashion capitals of Europe but can't they stick to the football and there traditional Blue and Black, i quite like that strip, maybe something to do with clashing with PSG,s strip but in this day and age of COLOUR do they really need to bother?

Roll on August, think we have some internationals and this club world cup thing but not sure its going to be that good, more a bit of a jolly for the bigger clubs i suspect?

Inter started too slowly. They needed to come out fast and try and get PSG on the back foot early on. They pondered and when that first goal went in they just never recovered. Shame, as you want a final to be close and competitive, but bar a 10 minute spell halfway thru first half, Inter offered little. They were just completely outclassed by a team that potentially could dominate Europe for the next two seasons at least. Such a great team to watch.

I remember saying to some guy about how PSG totally destroyed Liverpool in their 1st leg.  He totally disagreed. But even though the score was tight over the 2 legs, I'd never seen a team totally dominate that Liverpool team. I think then I thought they are easily the best team in Europe.

Barca are just as creative but don't have the defensive side that PSG have. Thats the difference. Whats more impressive, is that they are "sharpening their knives" in the French league, which isnt filled with the best teams. Luis Enrique deserves so much credit for getting them as sharp as they are. Thats been the hard part for PSG over the years I think.

You were saying the other day that you couldn’t care less about Spurs.

Which one is it?

you still hurting from them winning a cup?

I’m truly devastated, it affects my waking hours.

This mode of playing has been evolving over the last few years. It started with one or two powerful, athletic players but now its an entire team of fearless, big, athletic, skilful players taking risks. Its where a number of Premier teams are.

Fair play to the ref, when a game is dead in the water just blow the whistle ffs, hopefully it will catch on.

Inter were on for the treble just a few weeks back, proper imploded really. PSG look like the new Pep's Barca.

As said, that's your lot until 17 August. Anyone for cricket?

Don't confuse a 1-0 scoreline with it being particularly "competitive" or a good game to watch, Spurs somehow managed to bungle the ball across the line due to shit defending and goalkeeping, ManU had their chance cleared of the line, in between it was 2 shit sides taking it in turn to give the ball away and devoid of much intention other than to pass as quickly as possible.

The Chelsea/Betis game was far more "competitive" until Chelsea ran away with it in the last 20 mins and overall, a better game to watch.

PSG dominated and played some subline football at times and gave Inter a footballing lesson, that was a far more interesting game than the shit show your boys won don't you think?

And on another subject i see the celebrations in Paris have turned into the usual riot🤣 Doesn't matter what it is the French love an excuse to fight the Police, do a bit of looting and burn some cars and a few buildings to the ground!!!🐸

The only thing I will say is PSG have bankrolled the Club to finally achieve a Champions League and in the end had to rely on Enriques masterclass management believing a lot in the youth.

“What would it take to put Enrique amongst the elite managers?” is such a braindead question.
