Been retro watching stuff from my youth in the UK.

Binge watching Shine on Harvey Moon at the moment, another classic from the 80,s, in the last few months the whole catalogue has been added to YouTube

TBH has not dated and still a very VERY good watch, loads of familiar faces, Elizibeth Spriggs though as Nan is superb, Witzend productions also made Auf Wiedershen Pet, another 80,s classic, but Harvey Moon used to pull 18 million plus viewers when it aired, not too shabby by any measure!.

highly recommend both for anyone not old enough to remember

no idea if run by ITV but there's an ITV Retro channel on youtube and it's uploading episodes of The Prisoner. it's brilliant stuff if you haven't seen it

I too am enjoying Dept Q.  I wasn't even aware it was set in Edinburgh but refusing to watch a show because of it's location is a bit odd..

Also enjoying Stick on Apple.  

It's just personal as I spent 4 months working there for a client in St Andrews Sq. I stayed at The Wavely Hotel near the station. The Scots hate us and I hate them. The boozers are naff and all it does it rain and the wind never stops. The architure is bleak and miserable.

Starts off as the standard - cop moved to basement to work on cold cases with motley bunch, following fucked up operation - but its very dark and excellent so far.


 

Won't watch anything set in Edinburgh the overrated shithole that it is. 

 

Only glimpses of edinburgh so far, and our 'hero' is an Englishman. The actual set design and lighting of the whole piece is excellent, if anyone is interested in that sort of thing. Very gothic. It's a quality production.

That is a truly awful shout. Mobland, Peaky Blinders, Taboo, Legend.  He is superb in all of them. 

Hardy in Peaky Blinders is cringe worthy. He's Fagin character is so OTT that I expect him to burst into a chorus of "I Like to pick a pocket or two"'

Same with the Kray shit, just cartoon hardman acting, you want to see real menace, Paddy in Dean Mans Shoes. 

Dead Man's Shoes is a classic.

Remember saying on here years ago, Hardy is a fucking appalling actor, I striluggle to watch anything with him in it. Saying that, there must be some talent in being able to play the same character in exactly the same way in every single role your in. Talent, or stamina.

Agree about Paddy Constantine, however he is shocking in Mobland, not a role for him.

Thought the Mobland finale was pretty weak. But agree the cast baring maybe Helen Mirren are superb. Especially Hardy.
