Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Funny as recently I was just thinking of the prospect of Grealish playing for us and I saw on Newsnow there is a rumour this could happen. He woudl fit well into our left side with Bowen on the right and a no 9 like Fullkrug in the centre. I recon that would be good offensive line up.

Yup. Whoever is manager and head of scouting/recruitment can identify all the players they want and submit their wishlist (and haven't we just lt some slip through our fingers in recent years) but at the end of the day Sullivan always thinks he knows better on his own hunches and whims than the people who spend hours and weeks poring over these things can torpedo a deal for any player he 'doesn't fancy' or impose on the manager any player he does, regardless of whether they'll be any use whatsoever. Chopping and changing anyone else in the club is only addressing a symptom rather then the root cause. No other company would function properly or be successful in this fashion. We're only really staying in the Premier league despite him to an extent, and by virtue that we are a big enough club we usually have just about enough quality or spending power to dig ourselves out of a hole each time we fall into one. We'll get caught out sooner or later though.

To be honest I'm not holding my breath regarding this transfer window. We all know who the main problem is at our club and it's very little to do with whatever manager we have in situ.

We'll be linked all summer long to young up and coming players with potential only to hesitate and allow another club to get the signing over the line. Usually clubs that are far more modest and have less resources but are exemplary at doing their due diligence and homework. You gotta put the work in yourself - relying on agents to come up trumps is a false economy more often than not.

At least halfway into the window we'll show up at the bring and buy sale or flea market maybe even at the harbour expecting a juicy sardine to fall off the back of the trawler like a famous Frenchman once said.

Otherwise it's going to be an old antique which used to shine like the sun but is now beyond full restoration other than some cosmetic window dressing. Faded glamour and all that. We know the score, so does his offspring as does Vanessa Gold.

However he's still there - surely something is brewing? It's been beyond credibility for quite some time now 🤦🏻

Hahaha, is that you John Coffey?? Glad I upset you fella. Strange as you have never addressed me before, and vice versa.

No point in 2025 trying to get bites from me son, this place is done and nowt matters now, if it ever did. Now back in your kennel :-)

Must say though it's very odd that you have fired into me after I just put up a standard type post about Ramsdale. Go and have a nice cup of tea.

Ramsdale a massive uninspiring no from me. We've already got a decent shot stopper who is crap with the ball at his feet. Ramsdale has a frantic air about him too IMO.

This smacks of agent talk anyway IMO. Supposedly Potter and more specifically MacCauley are being 'data led' in their targets, with the Club having invested in this area.

Ramsdale's stats are pretty ropey. His wages are expensive. And he wouldn't be cheap either.  Just don't see us signing someone of his ilk to be number 2, and don't see us making a signing that at the outset makes 120k per week Areola number 2.

I think to be fair, Ramsdale is a bit better than Areola and also Fabianski as he is just getting too old. But it's not much of an upgrade and doesn't show much ambition. Sterling would be another expensive Ings bench warmer.

Apart from the fact that Ramsdale is a liability, if we're short of dough why would we lay out 20 large on a keeper? Makes no sense to me, so I'm calling beard on this. We will probably try to loan the cսnt, if anything.

Aaron Ramsdale is set for salvation after a season from hell by holding talks over a move to West Ham, talkSPORT understands.

The 27-year-old conceded 66 of the Saints 86 goals in their relegation campaign that was almost record-breaking with just 12 points collected - one more than Derby’s all-time low.

Yet his involvement didn’t deter West Ham manager Graham Potter, who remains impressed by Ramsdale’s stints in the top flight at Arsenal, Sheffield United and Bournemouth.

Ramsdale won’t come cheap, though, with Southampton hoping for £20million in exchange for a player they paid £18m for just under a year ago.

However, the south coast team are looking to offload his hefty £100,000 per-week wages as they gear up for their Championship return.

Jesus fucking Christ ferret son! you talking about West Ham or Levy and your lot going all in for him! Or is this one of your wind ups?

Saying that i wouldn't put it past Sullivan! Joked a few weeks ago we would be after KDB and then apparently, we did have a sniff.......

We love an aging player on a free or low fee at the club who we can "big" up as a world beater🤣

As much as I like Kudus, after such a shit season, I'd be happy to take 85M for him, especially if we then got in 3-4 players at a similar level as Guilherme.

We are just a staking horse in that race. Word coming out of France. Is that we are the first team to "Sat down with Saint-Etienne and discussed the financing of the transfer." That alone. Should tell anyone. This ain't happening.
