Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

According to ExWHU, Marseille front runners for Aguerd, and multiplemclubs interested in Cornet.

Club also want close to Kudus release clause, with Chelsea, Newcastle and Arsenal all 'expressing interest'.

It fucking stinks.
That to be fair is stuff the club did under the old regime. It's under the new lot that they've been finding the loopholes in the financial rules and using those grey areas to game the system.
As a Football Club they've still not been done for it, regardless of who's now owning it and it's still an ongoing case that's dragged on and on which they're hoping to get away with by simply paying off with a lowly sum to the Premier League so to keep them sweet. It stinks just as the never ending Man City case does, but not at all surprising considering how powerful these Clubs are.

The system is the problem, not the clubs trying to get around it.

I hate the money in the game, but unless they bring in proper rules, as in around the amount of English born players in the team, salary caps, maximum transfer spend regardless of incoming transfer money etc, then this current set up is just there purely to try to ringfence the big hitters. Hasn't worked all round, as in Man Utd's case, but that's purely down to their own incompetence.

Either go hardcore with the rules, or just let everyone get on with it.

It's only Massive Bellend, Chutney Ferret, and Manuel who's moaning.

I think I'll get over it.

This has already been done recently, and most - including me - said that whilst Chelsea are a horrible club with weird supporters, they are the world experts at playing the transfer game and we should employ people who could do similar for us instead of moaning about PSR and suggesting that we sell all of our best players to fund buying new players to replace them.

Credit where it's due, Chelsea have mastered the transfer system and regularly lose players much better than anything we have and still finish much higher than us. That doesn't mean we love Chelsea, it's a reluctant admiration for their business manipulation and like many things at West Ham, it goes to show that leaving important decisions to imbeciles like our owners is going to leave us trailing.

What will NOT talking about what other teams in our league - in this case Chelsea - achieve?

Will they go "Oh No! Proper faces on WHO are ignoring us so we'd better stop what we're doing right now and behave"?

we probably have Brady’s cleaner on an abacus.
Glad someone gets it, Scorch.

Hopefully we join the same club if they buy Kudus from us, and we can fiddle our figures to help PSR.

Best to close eyes and ears until August as we aint doing any business until then.  Sullivan and Potter on holiday, then waiting for Kudus to be sold. We are cash poor / skint as usual.  Some, perhaps most, targets might be gone but dont worry we are fortunate unlike other clubs because we have a chairman with special relationships with 2 or 3 great football agents who will make sure, with our chairman/ owner, that we get players for our rebuild so long as we compromise on things like age, pace etc.  Mr Sullivan is a blessing.  🥴

We'll probably offer them £120M for him and double Jack's wages to £600k a week on a ten year contract.
