WHU sanctioned by The FA

Post Massive Attack »

West Ham United can confirm that the Club has been sanctioned by The Football Association, following the conduct of supporters at the Premier League away fixture at Chelsea on Monday 3 February 2025.

An independent Regulatory Commission has imposed an action plan, £120,000 fine and a warning over future conduct, after the Club admitted the charge of misconduct, in relation to abusive, offensive, discriminatory, homophobic chanting by supporters.

Homophobic chanting, which in this case amounted to the commission of a criminal offence, is not consistent with the values and beliefs of West Ham United and the vast majority of the Club’s supporters. The Club has a zero-tolerance policy towards discriminatory, abusive and insulting behaviour, and those identified will, in addition to any criminal charges they face, be issued with Club bans.

Action plan

Will the team be required to wear rainbow laces and captains armband for the next six.months.

Are they going to play West End Girls as the warm up musc instead of a London calling  and leave Rainbow flags on every seat for us to wave proudly

Will members of the LGBTQ community receive priority booking for season tickets and have their own dedicated grass line to text in case they hear an inappropriate comment.

Will there be an online LGBTQ education programme introduced for any new attendees at the bowl before they are allowed to to purchase tickets.

Will mince be banned from the pie and mash franchise.?

There are fans, both in the home and away end, that are practically foaming at the mouth with anger at some of the standard PC chants "you sold your sole, for this sh*thole" etc and they're the same ones who call people snowflakes for taking offence to a rent boy, or foreskin chant.

The most embarrassing was when a teenage couple got hounded by fans when we played Man City and the girl took her coat off to reveal a Man City shirt.  Yeah, she rightly got chucked out and obviously it was a bit stupid, but on her way down there was a 60 year granddad spraying her with spit whilst shouting all sorts of obscenities at her.  She was about 16 years old.
I always like “ she’s got clamidia” but signing it at a 16 year old was probably a bit much.

When we play Brighton?

And would we get sanctioned for that!?

Would have thought so. The Club is acting more like a proxy-Old Bill on behalf of the Government and prioritises less of being a well run Football Club that should concentrate more on the shambolic quality of Football on the pitch.
They are just sucking the joy out of the game!

Oops no gay pun intended!

Covid masks would seem to me to be the obvious solution to covering one's mouth whilst chanting.

No cսnt would dare take a Covid mask off a fan (concerned, obviously, for the well-being of himself and those around him).

In this sanction does it state how they expect the club to stop this style of chanting, as obviously they blame the club for this behaviour, as if the club ran chanting classes on a Thursday night so that it was nicely coordinated.

Why is implying that someone is homosexual homophobic?
Are the police saying being homosexual is a BAD thing?
THAT sounds homophobic to me
And the fact their ground is very near Earls Court a favourite hunting ground for Oxbore and Thunderclit

What could be more inclusive than serenading a minority group of an opposing side???

It's a football match, for fuck's sake; what did they expect, a round of polite applause while we all sip tea from cups of Dresden China?
