Re: Beckham getting knighted.
Beckham had a good football career which he has managed to convert into a lucrative post football fortune. Which has helped bail out his wife’s frock shop
Was probably about the 5th best player in a champion Man U team and captain of an England team that ultimately underachieved and won nothing
Not sure how that earns a Knighthood especially after the scandalous ignoring of Bobby Moore for 27 years after he WON the World Cup

Re: Beckham getting knighted.
I heard him interviewed once and he said "...... me 'n' me dad 'ave boaf always bin yew-nigh-'id fans." What a pair of cunts eh?. If you meet anybody from East London who claims to be a Man Utd fan, you would not think much of them and should not allow them talk about football. Hated the prick ever since then.

That game against Greece to qualify, people remember the free kick, but it is hands down the best individual performance I've ever seen from an England player.
As in hitting the heights of winning something, which I don't hold against him. I loved the effort and quality he produced at times just as much as you.

Re: Beckham getting knighted.
I did meet Sir David once, he did a launch of something at a venue I used to work at. Everyone on our team from the tech guys to the doormen, caterers - found him to be utterly charming. He makes you feel like you're the most important person in the room. A proper old school lesbian said she would the consider 'turning' for him.
Maybe he's a right old cսnt at home.
The only suprise with this is the timing, I thought 5-6 years ago he had it in the bag. I don't really agree with this stuff, but compared to the previous recipients he probably deserves it.

Re: Beckham getting knighted.
People state that he has done a lot for various charities etc, well he’s amassed that much money that he could ponce around pretending he’s some kind of saint, the ordinary person is too busy working to pay their mortgage etc. Personally I worked for 40 years on a steelworks, and I’m sure many on here have spent equivalent or even longer in employment, but has anyone ever offered them a gong?

The direction the Country's going I wouldn't be surprised to see the ceremony being replaced soon with beheadings.

I just find it hard to believe that they would never had given him one eventually had he not died so young, especially after they already honoured him with an OBE. Sir Geoff Hurst only received his knighthood at the age of 57.
As for Beckham, I thought I'd have a butchers at his overall contributions. At Club level he won a hell of a lot domestically and even managed to win abroad with his achievements culminating in winning a unique Treble that had never been done before from England.
He never quite hit the heights for the National Team but still represented the Country well as Captain going on to win over 100 caps. Didn't realise he won Real Madrid Player of the Year once and forgot he was Runner-up in the Ballon d'Or to Rivaldo. Something that gets overlooked is he managed to score over 100 goals as well as over 200 assists at the top level for Club and Country too. The geezer could play and had a wand of a foot. He's also done his bit with plenty of charity work down the years.
In a Country full of non-achieving, classless, celebrity shitcunts, if there was one in England worthy of it, I don't begrudge Beckham's knighthood for all his achievements and services to England and the UK beyond just Football when also helping to bring the Olympics here.
He also clearly loves his Country and the Monarchy that was typified when he joined others in queueing to honour the Queen lying in state so to pay his respects. A patriotic local boy did good who I'd sooner see getting knighted than say Jimmy cunting Savile!maybe even Sullivan wouldn’t still be around milking the club.
You dreamer!

I agree with some of this and maybe my point was made because I find him and her unlikeable, but I think you’ve shot yourself in the foot arguing that he helped bring the olympics to London, if the games were awarded to a different country at the time we’d probably still be at UP and worth a bit less, maybe even Sullivan wouldn’t still be around milking the club.
On balance, for me, Beckham is a massive cսnt.

I may be getting old.
We're not comparing like with like here really, are we?
Back in Bobby's day (when he led West Ham into winning the World Cup), football was (still) regarded by the establishment and authorities (i.e. those without a fucking scooby what it was all about but with absolute control over who got a gong), as "A gentleman's game played by ruffians" (As opposed to rugby, which was "A ruffian's game played by gentlemen).
At that time the authorities and establishment were still trying to shoe-horn modern (Rock"n"Roll, Rock, Pop) music into one of the handful of 1950s "easy listening/BBC Light Programme" categories they'd begrudgingly, and all too lately, accepted as valid.
Football of the day never had a chance of being "acceptable" as a national sport at that level, despite it's obvious popularity (and obvious potential).
That all changed the day the Premier League came about when suits, parasites and similar leeches realised that there was a cash-cow just waiting to be milked.
Bottom line being that Beckham earned these suits, parasites and similar leeches money Bobby couldn't even dream of. Thus the reward.
If Beckham has any sense of gratitude and true understanding of the game's history, the very least he could do is dedicate his Knighthood to Bobby Moore, even if doing so gets the establishment spitting feathers.

To see this over-inked cսnt get a K truly sickens me particularly as a genuine hero, our very own Bobby moore only received an OBE. If anyone deserved a knighthood it was Bobby.
I detest Beckham and his ridiculous fame hungry family who do pretty much fuck all with their lives.

As a kid that thought used to amuse me as well. The thought of if there was a battle a load of doddery old men (as most sirs were back then) would be strapped on horseback and expected to lead us to a victory. Surely we needed harder Knights!
Re: Beckham getting knighted.
When your village is attacked by a dragon or you need to wipe out the Muslim faith on behalf of His Holiness The Pope, it's not Saville, Khan and Beckham you want wielding the sword. It's Capes, Roach and McNab. Yet they are overlooked to this day.

I don’t have an issue with this, I quite like him and he does put himself out for charities.
