Podcast reccomendations

"We got a movie and box set thread; anyone got any recommendations for a decent podcast? Not just football related but on anything that may be of interest. About the only regular podcast i listen to is Joe Rogan, the recent one with Russel Crowe is quite entertaining although a bit long."

This is a good one. 10 episodes about an IRA executioner who tortured and killed informers, and all the while he was working for the British intelligence service who knew what he was doing and let innocent folk die cos they couldn't blow his cover.

Interesting if you like that sort of thing.

Yeah he's good at that, although also enjoys a bit of banter.
No-one wants to listen to the interviewer, they just set the conversation up in an enjoyable/informative way.

To be honest I reckon most of those special effects are better than all this CGI we have today. What's just as impressive is Jason and his Argonauts were having sword fights with nothing! Never did find out if they had to do pre agreed moves or they just did it off the cuff and Ray moved the models accordingly. You will enjoy it. Joe just let's him talk.

zico wrote: 14 Feb 2025, 20:03 Talking of Joe Rogan, Podcast #1377 with legendary special effects expert Rick Baker is absolutely fascinating.  There are teasers on You Tube but the full interview is on Spotify if you have it. I remembered his work from An American Werewolf in London but it's incredible listening to how he actually did it, and he pays great tribute to the likes of Ray Harryhausen, which was also interesting as another fave of mine is Jason and the Argonauts.  Those skeletons were one time consuming piece of stop motion!  If you are a film fan I highly reccomend.

Haven't seen/heard that one, cheers fella👍
If the yoof of today watched it, they'd probably crease up.
Cant' begin to imagine the patience it must've taken 60-odd years ago to produce those sequences.

Thought the Joe Rogan podcast with Bob Lazar and Jeremy Corbell was very good (if you're into that sort of thing).
Also his interview with Douglas Murray.
