Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Brentford fan from work reckoned they were planning to promote one of their assistants as they did with Frank but seems he is going to Tottenham with the backroom team
Said most likely might be McKenna from Ipswich … who he said JUST GOT RELEGATED

It will be interesting to see who Brentford appoint. They appear to be a well run club with a cohesive recruitment policy, will they be scratching around in the out of contract bargain bin?

Yeah the bookies i guess are thinking those teams will lose players and need rebuilds, in Palace's case they have Europe also.....

But they seem to forget we also need a rebuild, will probably lose more players and are starting from a far weaker value.

I thought we would be 4/1 at best could not believe my eyes when i see we were 7s

We're 7/1 at the moment. Seems amazing value.

Bookies have Brentford, Palace and Fulham more likely to go down than us. Mental

Believe the window opens AGAIN during the Club World Bollocks so those teams can change their squads
Why not just keep it open … plus have it SLAM SHUT again before the season starts

Sullivan isn’t paying any new players in June when they aren’t playing so has gone on holiday
Not keeping his cheque book in his speedos

Personally, for once, Im really trying hard not to pay  too much attention to transfer rumours for the next 6-8 weeks. I would suggest we all do the same to avoid unnecessary stress and angst because the club ( Sullivan and shareholders ) posturing / messaging is pointing to a last minute frenzy.

Mid to late August is when I expect we will start seriously to do some buying business. When its clear we didnt get the fees we want on Kudus, Alvarez, Emerson, Rodruiguez, Aguerd, Fullkrug, Irvine etc. Sullivan will be forced to sell most, if not all, at lower fees than he will hold out for and perhaps one or two others will be sacrificed too ( Soucek?) if bids come in for them. In other words, we will have to sell as many as possible to get a modest budget to spend. Potter and Macaulay will have about £75 million to spend if we manage to sell quite a few of the above as PSR will even take some of these sale fees if some of the club’s rumour mongers are to be believed.

We will start the season with perhaps one new signing, Brownhill and at best another free transfer ( Walker Peters?) is my guess.  Two others will come in if things go well imo but due to them being in the last weeks of the window, not Macaulay and Potter’s prime targets. Sullivan will have worked with agents to find “bargains”. Sullivan was never keen on Potter and his past coward like behaviour may well mean he is doing his best to ensure Potter does not get his picks and as few as possible as Sullivan is already thinking about replacing him at xmas? Lets be honest Steidten was set up to fail not being given a proper DOF role and Sullivan being very quick to move him on ( one window ) before taking back control of transfer business.

Its hard to dispute the above scenario on any transfer business not being the most likely ( based on what we are hearing and seeing )  isnt it?

So Im in self protection mode already ( 65 years of supporting West Ham does this to you)  ready for a “relegation fight” in the season ahead and perhaps relegation itself. It wont be a surprise.   Of course, I hope to be totally wrong and that the u21s like Potts and Earthy etc do far better than expected or that Sullivan via agents unearths another AWB like signing ( one out of 50 over 15 years he actually got right ).

Being a tad more positive, if we get a top quality, young, athletic, physical, central midfielder, we should stay up. Its the critical area to fix. If we get a decent striker too we could even make mid table or better. A new goal keeper and left back will be “cherries on the cake” but this is West Ham and Sullivan so I fully expect us to come up short and a lower table scrap or full blown relegation fight to be the most likely outcome.

Happy summer !! 🥴

  • Irving

  • Ward Prowse
  • Areola
  • Paqueta (owing to court case)
  • Cornet

We've advertised we're desperate. We've advertised we can't buy until we sell. We've advertised we have cashflow troubles and not a pot to piss in.

All of these make us prone to horribly low ball offers at best, and at worst targets to avoid dealing with to leave us in the shit.

The above are our 'unwanted and unloved' largely. None of them look frankly desirable to a suitor. All (Irving aside) are on career high wages. And it's telling we rarely get shot of a player unless it's free at the end of their contracts.

Sullivan has engineered a disasterous dealing position, made us look needy and desperate, and the fabled rebuild is (rightfully) subject to shipping out sub par shit we don't want.

The only players it looks like we have that are truly saleable assets are Alvarez, Kudus, and Aguerd. We've been lowballed on Kudus already (fuck knows how they think they'll get 70m+ for him). But 50m doesn't finance a rebuild. Aguerd's suitors are already playing the "We'll have him on loan again" angle, as are Cornet's.

This window looks fucked before it's even started. Potts, Earthy, Marshall, Orford and Casey better have high ceilings....looks like they might well be needed more than we'd like.

..."Potts, Earthy, Marshall, Orford and Casey better have high ceilings"...

You think Sullivan will sanction any of those to take a first team position?

That puts his expertise (and that of his agentmates) in the transfer market under question, if not severe strain.

Any bids whatsoever comes in and they'll be shown the door.

So the first half of the transfer window is done and dusted! How did we do🤣 Oh, its just Todibo is it? Hardly a new boy in seeing as he's been here a while already🙄

TBH though im not sure we could expect much, it will all happen in the second half, and being West Ham we will leave it late, try and pick up some crumbs dropped by bigger clubs or big up those they passed on or are letting go😑

It’s like Sullivan and the club literally don’t know how to not mug themselves off. For everyone moaning about Potter saying we only wanted a few bits, this is exactly why. At least a semblance of trying to keep a poker face. But then hes got all the clubs mouthpieces shouting our true intentions over his shoulder to the rest of the room.

we dont actually need to sell either. It’s just that we refuse to buy until people are sold first because the owners don’t want to cough anything up. We are doing our best to purposely shoot ourselves in the foot at every turn this summer, it seems. Not a surprise that barrow boy Sullivan is being outmanoeuvred by everyone else.

The prick posted an ode to North London on the day we played the four by two’s, iirc.
Think it was on the site for about an hour before being removed. Not sure if a mod removed it, or the wankstain removed it him/her/it self.
Assuming a mod removed it, THAT was the time to remove Ladyparts from this site.Still, it's KUMB's problem now.
Will be interesting to see how they deal with the vermin.

It's irrelevant due to his pensionable age now coupled with his leg resembling a half chewed pepperami stick these days.

If he could only score 1 goal in 15 matches prior to the accident, then to offer him anything at all would be madness.

It's the mascot job or nothing.
