Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

the loss was driven by player trading.
outside of player trading we made a profit.

the issue is our player trading............ we're not very good at it.

West Ham made a 30 million operating loss in the last financial accounts.

The move from Upton Park to Stratford only earned approx 10 million in the first season. Revenues have since increased in line with a general uplift in EPL

My feelings entirely.

If you buy a football club then every process within it has to be hugely improved or what is the actual point?

They have a bigger stadium which has almost doubled the revenue but we're stuck with an inefficient, crusty old dinosaur who still manages it like when he bought Birmingham City over 30 years ago.

it's run like his own personal fiefdom - dictator style.

It ain't getting any better, don't hope for it or expect it to happen even if you're an eternal optimist...there is no plan in place other than his own  exclusive mindset.

We're well and truly fucked.

That’s excluding player trading. Day to day running of the club.

it will include a higher league finish and an element of European football. I doubt we will make a profit in the season just finished.

aren't those accounts backdated (a year behind) to include the rice sale? I wouldn't be worried about the future if the midget cսnt allowed a coach to bring through, and build a team with a base from the younger age teams but it's clear that strategy blocks purchases and ultimately, agent commissions. I think the club died the day they walked through the door

the counter argument is that only 1 PL club made an operating profit LY outside of player trading - and that was us.
we make that profit in part because we dont own a stadium.

if we do not sell Kudus + a few others then we're fucked. we are basically sat around waiting for them to decide their futures before we can do anything. meanwhile we will likely miss out on players that we really want/need.

on the point of ownership, Sullivan just doesn't have the money to run a PL club. His biggest asset is the club and it doesnt make any money. I'm not going to blame him for not wanting to throw his own money down the toilet, but he must realise that he cannot afford to move the club on.

problem is, the top 6 have locked down the league with PSR so nobody can actually come in and invest in a club.

next season will be a right laugh...........

JWP is bang average, good stats, mainly from set pieces at Southampton which he has dried up at.

Its a like for like with £15m in the bank to buy someone else.

I'd take that.

But who's going to pay that for JWP?  He hasn't been linked to anyone and seemed a Potter favourite towards the end of the season.

I figured we're getting Brownhill to flip him as soon as possible for PSR.
Might be wishful thinking, but any cash for JWP and getting a replacement on a free is good business from us. Brownhill seems to get around the pitch, just had his best goal scoring season and seems great in the dressing room and was captain in a side that got promoted.

Happy with the deal to bulk out an area that we need numbers in if it means funds can go elsewhere.

Looks like we've missed out on Egan- Reilly though to Marseille, which is massively disappointing. Again area we need, home grown and great season last year......what are we doing letting him go there?!
I think it's more of a case he's been enticed by the prospect of playing in the Champions League with them.

Surprised how many people turning their nose up at Brownhill. Admittedly not the most exciting signing but will be a strong squad option, I am sure he won't be the only one that we buy in central midfield.
Someone we should be all over is Tanganga from Millwall. Will be good to get a strong English base in there again

Yep, the last time he got a young promising Striker, he hardly used them. He'd only end up keeping Duran on the Bench for 4 years.

It's becoming clearer now why Potter was given that longer deal, rather than the initial alleged six month trial . Keep your trap shut, don't make a sound about transfers and do as your told. All that "The Board couldn't have done more for me" bollocks in January. Only given that flash useless cսnt Ferguson, and nothing since. Suddenly we go from bidding 50m+ for Duran, to being skint. Openly telling your playing squad they're free to go. And all the whole the loyal glove puppet cunts like Whetstone, Ex, Steinberg, Etc continuing to wind up the masses for the benefit of that 4ft shitbag & his tory peer accomplice

Let's call it what it is...Sullivan filling his bank account with Club funds from kickbacks through dealing with agents he has a personally beneficial relationship with (allegedly...my lawyers have instructed SWT).

onsideman wrote: 12 Jun 2025, 19:53 I don't particularly want Brownhill either, but any comparison needs to look at career trajectory. 1 goal in 15 for Ward-Prowse last year and he's got progressively less productive since 2021-22. For your historical stats to stand up you'd need to see a significant improvement next season and I for one ain't hopeful
Ward-Prowse shouldn't have been loaned out last season by Lopetegui, Steidten or whether it was a joint decision, as the season before last he produced decent results in his debut season for us.

Prem League - 7 G 7 A
Europa League - 4 A
18 Goals made altogether

Helped us reach 9th in the Prem as well as the Europa Quarters losing to Leverkusen. Brownhill has never made such an impact at that level and I'm not hopeful he'll get near what Ward-Prowse produced.

I don't even strongly dislike Brownhill, he seems like an honest hard working OK squad player. I'm more angry with the Club resorting to basement deals for average players because we are run like a 2bob amateur Club at times by Sullivan.

That all being said should he likely rock up I hope he can take his decent form from the Championship and continue in much the same vein. Looking at his career though he'll be bucking a trend to achieve it.
Well you can lead a horse to water but you can't stop him blubbing incessantly at the beginning of June. If you're this upset now you're gonna need to strap in, cos it's going to be a long summer for you.

I'm not sure you're cut out for this.
