Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

I wasn't impressed with Pellegrini and Husillos but when you've been bullshitted and hung out to dry then obviously they knew sooner rather than later they would get a pay off and end up somewhere more suited to their attributes like Betis. So it has proved.

Lopetegui and Steiden - exactly the same thing...when the shit hits the fan then divide and rule to deflect attention from the main source.

Potter and Macculey - it's looking familiar again eh?

BFS and Moyes managed to negotiate the Sullivan ego more than most - the former because like Sullivan he has bathed in all the waters and knows how to be a cսnt. Moyes was more out of some sort of religious conviction that he wasn't letting someone like that get him down. To be honest I think his respect was for David Gold and to a lesser extent Brady rather than the diminutive one. Plus, he was a stubborn old school Scottish goat so that can get him through most things thrown across his path.

Avram Grant just smelt of something dodgy...In hindsight I think his remit was to take the club down so they could clear the decks and start again.

Yesterday Bournemouth signed Adrien Truffert a French left back with over 200 league games under his belt and he is 24 in November. That should be the type of signing our club make - an upgrade on Emerson for just £11 Million plus £3M in bonuses. Yes, he's the kind of player you find on the football manager PC game but then so are the players that the BBB (Bournemouth Brentford, Brighton) keep signing and it regularly works for them. That PC game is pure fantasy but what most fail to realise is it has a very sophisticated database that is basically a defacto Transfermarkt.

Even Palace are a far more attractive option these days than us and I never thought that would ever come to pass. It's finally happened though! Who's fault is that?

Our owners will never do the homework and put in the hours themselves - practically every signing they make will always be the dregs at the bottom of an agent's spreadsheet.

It's the same old regurgitated arse gravy.

One of the reasons Potters last 6 months have been so depressing is that our league position attracts good players for less money. It’s why Sullivan position on not firing managers when it’s obvious they are failing, is so weird. We couldn’t get a Kudus now. We just don’t look like a club that could further the ambitions of a decent player.

I fear that Potter has sold Sullivan on the concept of him bringing in average players and forgetting about anything that is anywhere near world class. We will sell anyone that is a high level player. I feel like he’s told the board they are uncoachable and that’s why we are where we are.

I personally don’t believe you can do well in this league without a handful of exceptional players in your club. It’s just too hard a a league to get through on just hard work and organisation. You need some magic. Not sure where we’ll get that from now.

Liverpool only bought Chiesa & the Georgian keeper last season & at some point will sell Nunez & probably Elliot this summer
Plus being very successful helps
Any trouble we have (real or imagined by Sullivan) is due to our club being run like a CIRCUS & making ludicrous buys

I wouldn't want us to touch either of them.

Buy players on upward trajectories, not ones that are on their way down.

guessing both would be on mega wages?
I would be fuming is we were making those moves, nobody outside the top couple of teams can afford those wages.

plus Walker was a liability at Milan and has been for England as well.

Even Everton seem to be having a go with Kyle Walker and Grealish to join them. All the rest of the shit centres on the usual 6 clubs. How the fuck can the scouse cunts splash £200m or so and not even one eyebrow gets raised over PSR with them. One rule etc...

ExWHU Update...pretty much nothing new.

Ruled out any interest in:

- Dominic Calvert-Lewin
- Callum Wilson
- Adam Bojang

Apparently we 'like'

- Habib Diarra
- Emegha
- Evann Guessand
- Albian Hajdari
- KWP
- James Macatee
- Kone (but price too high)

- looking for a keeper on loan in the first instance. Won't move on one until appoint a keeper coach to the staff

- Nothing will happen until players depart, with the most likely:

- Emerson
- Kudus
- Paqueta
- Aguerd
- Cornet

The best thing to happen to this club would be for Sullivan to cut ties with Barry Silkman and Will Salthouse.

My concern is when Sullivan does go, his sons are party pals with Salthouse, so that influence is just going to carry on.

We called it. Just surprised it's happening so soon. Imagine punishing and badmouthing your own employees time and again for the crime of wanting to do the best job they possibly can rather than helping your old boys club.

The outstanding Vlasic fee would have been a small part of the £191 million owed in transfer fees at the time the accounts closed in May 2024.

if this keeps going, or rather nothing keeps going, we will have the biggest ground in the Championship season after next. Very dispiriting, even by West Ham's low bar of transfer success, to see nothing even close on the horizon. All these rumours are just the usual hot air whilst the squad disintegrates in front of us. Bowen must be thinking "Fuck my father-in-law i'm out of here"

Stuff like this can easily be solved with escrow.

I suspect the gripe is that little old uppity West Ham are getting the benefit from the money that has yet to be paid, rather than not respecting the sanctions in order to fulfil a UEFA/FIFA requirement (and probably earn one of their suits a tidy little commission in the process).

Presumably Sullivan hasn’t paid yet banked the lesser amount we received for selling Vlasic?
Not if we haven't been required to. Better earning a bit of interest for us rather than them. It'll buy a couple more submarine commander hats.

CSKA Moscow? Interesting one that. Apparently we aren't allowed to pay them because of sanctions and have said that we will when sanctions are lifted pay within the required 45 days.

Its a huge overhaul but Im giving Potter one season to at least make it worth going over to LS.

Hard my season ticket since we moved here and renewed a few weeks back,Im probably going to regret it.

TBH ,Im East Ham born and bred and followed WHU for 60 years ,the club runs through my veins (and my kids) but Im just losing the will to go anymore. Its so sad.

That's really sad to read.... But its becoming all too common now, comments like that. Lots of proper stalwarts have just had enough. Something needs to change,

There is a reason that club was so terrible last season: they had only a few decent players. Walker-Peters wasn’t one of them. He’s a Championship player.

We don’t need a squad full of poor freebies.
I can't see the fascination with him either.  Especially from those who think he's good enough to play left back (he's a right back who's filled in there at times) on a regular basis for us.

Sullivan is probably of the attitude that the need to keep his agent/mates happy outweighs the need to improve the (his) team.
