Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Juventus has opened negotiations with West Ham to explore a deal for defender Nayef Aguerd. The Italian side wants to include Daniele Rugani as part of the deal, who is of interest to the Hammers to add experience to their defensive options..

Gianluca Di Marzio

Potter basically telling them to do one. Juventus shocker.! Trying to do their cleaning. On the cheap.
Di Marzio says he is of interest. Where does it suggest Potter doesn't want him?

I see we’re linked with Hamza Igamane from Rangers. Scored a cracker to win the Old Firm, but often came off the bench. Young, lots of potential, but not sure he’s the answer.

Coufal’s son has also joined our academy so London would suit him obviously
Fulham wanted him in January so Coufal on a free to replace Tete in their squad would make sense.

Vlad wants to stay in London. Can't really blame him. Would you want to live in Merseyside.?

Slow Italian who they sent on loan to Ajax last season
Aguerd is worth £30m
Interest from others including Real Sociedad where he was on loan
Show us the money … or a player we want

Saw we are looking at the Genoa left back … Spaniard called Aaron Martin. Could be a swap for Cornet?

Monsieur

It's more today do with the ineptitude / corruption of the board and claiming we are severely in debt, additionally with the fact our manager seems uninspiring, also our crap players from last season with our poor league position making us seem a less than ideal choice of prospect for any potential player.

But yeah, im "limp" because im the only (ONLY) worried fan

What gets lost in all this transfer window excitement for me is that, based on the "World Class Club in a World Class Stadium" promises on moving to Stratford any ownership with a vision, strategy and tactics to deliver that strategy would, by now, be looking at one or two players to refresh a top quality squad, regularly competing in Europe.
Instead we have spent loads on disparate players in an uncoordinated manner over the last few years, invested nothing and created a "World Class" laughing stock of a club.
It wasn't Husillos's fault; it wasn't Newman's fault; and it wasn't Steidten's fault that the hotch potch team assembly has left us where we are, It was David Sullivan's, never more clearly evidenced than last years "winning of the transfer window" with 3 picks for Steidten, 3 for Lopetegui and 3 for Sullivan creating a 3 humped camel. And now he is leading from the rear again, hiding behind Macaulay and Potter whilst pleading poverty so rummaging around at the boot sale end whilst expecting top dollar for our cast offs, Aguerd and Cornet for example.
Just wish the circus would leave town and give us back our beloved club.

With him apparently joining Forest it looks like we might get a chance to see if we missed out on Igor Jesus

Will he join the list of us having seen Kerkez and Reijnders first hand over 2 legs and being offered Ekitike for €20m?

We’d of been better off keeping hold of Rice and letting him leave for free
He wanted to leave? But interesting, if we had kept the Europa side together the following season , bar moving on a few oldies  - and under a new manager - we'd probably have been better off today.

Of course we are fucked next season. Over the last few seasons under the clueless Sullivan we have been wasting huge amounts of money on duds who after a year or two with us end up with next to no sell on value.  And in addition to that they managed to waste the Rice jackpot.
Now we have another clueless manager who shows no signs of being in any way pro-active in the transfer market and will soon have us in a relegation dog fight.
Potter will have gone before Christmas but tragically the cause of our decline will still be here.

100% this. He thinks the game hasn't moved on from 20 years ago and is approaching things thusly. But it's moved on massively, especially in the last 5. It's not full of wideboys who will operate on a wink and a brown envelope any more and backslap each other in the freemason's lodge. It's serious big business stuff where people act professionally and invest in data and strategic experts.
