Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

I hope we are just stringing Spurs along with Kudus?

Mind you 2 tight arses in Sullivan and Levy, it’s going to drag on and on I bet, latest I read was Spurs have offered 50M rising to 55M depending on appearances etc and also want the deal to be over 5 years 🤷‍♂️ Levy doing his best to bend Sulli over a barrel 😆

Hopefully someone else comes in for him and we tell Levy to do one👍 So much for Sulli saying he would NEVER deal with them again after several deals where they fucked us over, refusing to sell at the last minute or changing the deal all the time, then that airport hijack with the Icelandic bloke, turned out bullet dodged but hope we ain’t forgotten that!

Working tirelessly, 10,000 names linked. Bids In, not quite at the asking price (by a country fucking mile). Bids rejected. On to the next target. Some are the same names that we saw last year, year before, year before, etc. But, of course, we believe that Macaulay and Twatter are making the running.

Groundhog day.

Oh, and the new kit is shit as well.

Chelsea have signed winger Gittens from Dortmund for £48m
Must have a dozen wide players now
Newcastle have agreed £55m with Forest for Anthony Elanga
Man City have managed to shift Kyle Walker to Burnley & even got £5m for him.

See that Igor Jesus that were oft linked with has now joined Forest in their expanding Brazilian foray.

Interesting and probably predictable to see what happens with that one.

As others mention, Sullivan will not spend a penny until the Kudus sale money is secured and a large upfront installment in the bank accounts.

All the BS about being him and other board members being willing to pit £90 in. Another lie no doubt and Sullivan trying to take the heat off himself. It was only going to be some form of loan but I bet its the last we hear of it

Sullivan does not want to pay fee Prague are asking for. Shy by a few million as usual. Fortunately silkman or Salthouse will have someone available instead 🙄😔

Nah, it really, really does need looking at. If we were playing with full backs then maybe we could cope with the two mediocre LBs we currently have, but if you play 3 at the back the wing backs become much more important. We get someone of quality in that position we might actually play some decent attacking football, especially if Summerville comes back and plays like he did at RWB in Potter's first game. Then Wan-Bissaka can cover either wing back position as needed or else play as one of the CBs.

For me this is the only way we're likely to see some decent football this season with Potter in charge.

Or that could be seen in a positive light. Recruit emerging talent and sell on at a profit rather than paying over the odds for established players who have little residual value at the end of their contracts.

Buying low and selling high is arguably the only way West Ham can hope to develop as a club
IF that only was the case. You think Sullivan is close to being RB Leipzig?
Exactly. Sullivan’s modus operandi is the exact opposite. Buy expensive and subsequently can’t give away for free.

Bloke is a cretin.

Finding young bargains is exactly what we should be doing and clearly what Potter and Macauley are trying to do. No doubt Sullivan will find a way to fuck it up torpedo it and bring in Jonjo Shelvey, Harry Maguire and Callum Wilson.

Other reports say this Diouf will be having a medical this weekend
What to believe?
My expectation is that Kudus is close. Reports are that we’d accept £60m and Tottenham have supposedly bid 50 then 55
If I was guessing I’d expect Chelsea will come in with £60m and leave Tottenham hanging about with their dicks in their hands

If that happens we maybe will do Diouf & the Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza for two thirds of that leaving room for one of the midfielders we’ve been dithering over
PURE SPECULATION of course

As for Emerson … if we were BUYING a 31yo Italian international with a full set of European club medals what do you reckon we’d be quoted?

I read this morning that WHU fanzines are treading back on the Diouf signing not yet being agreed.

How could it be when Sullivan hasn't sold anyone yet so no chance....

Same. At last some positive news regarding Transfers of a young and talented player, if he can transfer it in to the Premier League which would be the only question left to answer. 👌

if you think we can get £15-£20m for a player that turns 31 next month, reportedly on +£90k a week

that we paid £15m for 3 years ago, and hasn't dramatically improved in that time

You are a very optimistic person! i hope I'm proven wrong though

Young players from Europe & the Championship around the £20m mark with improvement in them is where we SHOULD be shopping
Emerson was looking for an Italian exit last summer so same again I’d say. Should be able to get £15m-£20m for him & mostly pay for his replacement
If we can get the young centre half Cresswell for around £20m then could shift Aguerd or Mavropanos on a similar deal.
The key area is midfield of course … need to get on with it there

Not many of our big money deals have actually worked out well have they?

Apparently this player can play centre back too is young pacey and athletic. Definitely something we need on the left hand side, Scarles can't be our regular wing back as not good enough going forward. Surely Emerson is going.
