Favorite West Ham memory

If you could re-live one game/ memory again which one would it be?

West Ham beating Fulham in the 1975 FA Cup final had a big impact on an 8 year old boy at the time.

The 3-3 draw against Spurs with Lanzini’s wonder goal ranks up there for me too. 

favorite memory is Frank Lampards diving header to take us to the cup final. What a moment! We all went mental!

League Cup, Monday 7th November 1966 at the Boleyn Ground. West Ham 7 Leeds 0. I was sat in the stand about half way. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. This was the mighty Don Revie Leeds team of Giles, Bremner and Hunter. We played them off the park.

The last game at the Boleyn and the Prague final for me.  Different reasons, nostalgia and the fact I had already chucked my season ticket in the bin at total disgust in how we were playing under that fat prick.  But as the last game approached I knew I just had to be there.  So I spent £300 on a ticket in the away end and had the time of my life.  There were loads of us in there and even the Manc fans were ok that day.

Prauge was very special.  Again no ticket but had to be in Prague for the experience and eventually got one for 1200 Euro.  Again in the away end surrounded by the Purple of Fiorentina fans.  Clearly not being welcomed I evacked out of there and in my 'poshest' accent told a UEFA rep that I had been missold a ticket and was in danger.  They moved me and the rest is history.  Probably my greated ever day/few days of my life.  Don't care what any other fan says about that tournament it meant loads to me/us and you could see that on each and every fans face.
Let's hope all our kids get a day like that in the future.

In a lifetime of fading memories of West Ham moments, this game is for me the outstanding one.
Not so much for the scoreline, great as it was. Certainly not for who we beat, Villa were a poor side that year and were relegated. (We finished 6th our first season back in Div 1.) I was just 11 years old had been attending games on and off for a couple of years with mates( we lived within a mile of the ground) and not unusually for back then went unaccompanied by adults. This particular match my dad who was more into boxing than football, but nevertheless, was West Ham, decided he wanted to go. So, instead of going with my mates in either the North or South Bank (depending on the queues), Dad splashed out and we were in the Chicken Run. We got there reasonably early and Dad got us nicely positioned down on the wall just about halfway. It was fair to say that although my dad was no shrinking violet, without a few beers he was not the most loud or boisterous person you would meet, not timid he had boxed for the Army won Regimental Championships and had a good measure of self-control or so I thought. But as the game progressed my old man became more and more excited, abusing the opposition players and referee in good order, the highlight being when he hung over the Chicken Run wall and screamed at John Bond to kick Vilas's left winger in the bollocks. And yes, that is exactly what happened! By accident or design to this day I know not. But on the day I believed my Dad had the power to order and to control events. I had never seen him so animated and excited before, sure he had told me tales of the 1923 Cup Final and what it meant to people in West Ham but it was at this match I first realised just how important  West Ham Utd was to him, and how important it therefore was to me.

Sorry if this was all a bit long but it is my most important memory of becoming West Ham

Beating Newcastle 8-1 at home. The play off final win v Blackpool. The Middlesbrough fa cup semi final at Villa park. Di Canio’s goal v Wimbledon. winning 1-0 at old Trafford with 9k fans there and Di canio’s winner. Bradford 5-4 at home. Ipswich 2-1 Ray Stewart late penalty to keep us in the title race 85/86. Going to Upton Park and walking down green street every time

Not sure it's my favourite memory but I was on the North Bank that night when we beat Leads 7-0 in the League Cup. Jack Charlton ripped his shorts and was attempting to change into a new pair on the pitch by wrapping a towel around his waist. Up went the chant "Charlton, Carlton show us yer arse". He looked over his shoulder, realised what the chant was, dropped the towel a bit, bent forward and mooned the North Bank. Got the loudest cheer of the night!

He'd be fined and suspended if that happened now. I loved the old days.

Too many to mention in individual games .  But the conference league win takes some beating . I turned 50. 3 weeks before it and barely remembered the 80 cup win . Let alone 75 .  For a club with the size of fanbase whufc have . that is funking  shameful .

Bradford game, we won 5-4 is right up there for me!

Over from Oz and Brother-in-law got tickets as this was the only game i could make, bit disappointed it was only Bradford and went half expecting a drab game, but fuck was i wrong, buzzing for days if not weeks afterwards, for me at least the best game i ever saw the UP.

Dicks’ penalty v Man Utd and ending up on the pitch with my cousin who was over from Australia!

Singing for John Lyall at Villa Park after he died.

Nearly wining the cup were it not for Gerrard scoring from another country.

Palermo (I had a good time, even if you didn’t!).

I'll always remember West Ham 5-4 Bradford - the game had everything.

More recently, the home game against Seville where we lost the previous leg 1-0 and had to beat them at home - atmosphere was incredible and it was a massive result against a decent european outfit.
