Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

£55m

£40m towards the debt and £15m towards a player.

Got to love West Ham.

I feel so sorry for Potter, he has been sold down the river.

As for Kudus, what a fucking prick. Hope he gets a nasty injury on his debut.

Disgusting business all round from the club. You could argue that the 'cheap' appointment of last seasons managers has cost the club another potential 30m.due to the buy out clause not being activated.

Fuck all this “he’ll do well under Frank” and “you can understand why he would want to play under Frank”.
Yh, let’s throw logical opinion out of the window because the dwarf has sold a key player to our rivals.

Making profit from a bloke who has generally been disappointing and last season was basically shit, hence why no decent teams are after him.

Hardly a massive loss even though the money won't be reinvested wisely.

I wouldn’t hold your breath. Or get them hopes up.(About new owners.) Sullivan is like Slim Pickens at the end of Dr.Strangelove. And he’s riding this sucker all the way too ground zero.!

West Ham need to find £40m by next week or refinance their bank loan. The Hammers borrowed £40m from Barclays Bank last summer secured against future Premier League payments.  The terms of the short-term loan dictates that the money must be repaid by 15th July 2025 which is next Tuesday.

It's proper clown show stuff. Do other clubs operate in this silly short termist hand to mouth way? Every bloody summer taking out loans. 9% interest, this Barclays one. No wonder they are so desperate to cash in on Kudus.

It makes me think why would Gold, Kretinsky and Tripp Smith bother to show their hand at this late stage? What Sullivan and Brady are doing has never been sustainable on a long term basis especially when it's been continuously proven that they refuse to learn from their gross incompetence.

Are we watching the diminutive one finally hang himself by his own petard.

It certainly feels like end of days stuff to me...

Surely if they took out a loan secured on the Premier league payments they would make sure it was due to be repaid AFTER the next lump of PL cash came in?
Given we have the tv business genius Lady Brady at the helm

I don't take what Noble says seriously.
He is a one club player and knows only West Ham.
I would take him seriously if he had the experience of playing for the top clubs in the UK and Europe.

I think you need to look at lopetegui for the rot setting in, that the Club acted quickly getting rid showed 'something' had gone very wrong with the players. They probably started putting feelers out for a move then and once heads were turned, Potter would be struggling to change their minds. Maybe.

The rot had set in long before Lopetegui arrived.
He inherited a Moyes sqaud that was already on the slide both in terms of average age and performances.  Our league form was absolutely dreadful for 2 years but was hidden by our European campaign.

Not to mention the rot that has been here since G&S owned the club.

Lopetegui was in fact a very small factor in why we are where we are.  Afterall, the owners appointed him in the first place.

Broadly agree. The squad had already been neglected over 18 months or two years and was paper thin and aging. Lop came in and the three headed monster of he TS and Sullivan at odds with each other just made it even worse, to add to his methods clearly destroying the morale of the squad. What we are seeing now is the chickens from 2-3 years ago coming home to roost. Moyes was irresponsible at least toward the end and just building for the short term (I can’t fully blame him seen as he knew his time was coming to an end) which is probably why Sullivan could understand his methods.

whether it’s Potter or someone else, it’s not an easy fix at all.
Totally agree, the manager is irrelevant.

Keeping Rice was NOT an option.
We were lucky to have him for another season as the vultures were circling long before he actually went.

His admittance of preferring to work with a small squad when in Europe and obviously the Premiership, baffled me.
I will never forget that time when Sullivan went on Talksport shortly after the win in Praque and how he was in 'sales mode' in regards to Declan Rice. Well, what a great financial deal that turned out to be. The money was spent on a bunch of 'Joe Average' players. Should have kept Rice until his contract ran out, whilst bringing in a few players. Still, hindsight and all that.

Overall, what a shambles of a club.
Quite right and called for that to happen at the time to keep Rice, even if it meant running his contract down as I couldn't trust them to get it right in the market. I warned it would be Rio MK II all over again and that's how it turned out to be, just on a bigger scale.
