What we really need is an AI program to post all the comments about West Ham and football in general, thus allowing the rest of us to get on with broadcasting our political agendas and personal animosities while giving the site the outward appearance of actually being a West Ham forum.

MO for example posts regular nonsense and as such is a prime candidate for foeing. Thus since the facility has been introduced I have been able to avoid his posts ( except when posters who are not foes quote him ).

 

 

 

To a certain extent. I'm far less concerned by individuals and their particular foibles, but more interested in rewarding all users with the imposition of a strict quality level that would be compulsory for ALL and hence raise the bar across the whole forum.

The posters who moan (and run to site admin) about their fellow-posters who post "crap" never then post up examples of a post that meets their exacting standards for others to learn from and follow.

Often it's "proper" West Ham who hijack posts with their own personal scores they feel need settling. It's "proper" West Ham who can't take a (mild) joke or recognise banter aimed at them.

And how difficult is it to ignore posts from posters you (YOU) have taken a dislike to?

If the ability to "foe" them is too much power in your hands then perhaps you lack the responsibility to manage your own life.

None of this is in the hands (or remit) of the site admin, who's job it is to just keep the site running and let (all of) us post our thoughts - if some of the rantings can be called that.

A bit of tolerance goes a long way.

This is not a bad thought. In fact it would be good to take it still further, and provide a number of pre-approved templates for ALL posts, which if supplied to all and numbered, would remove the need for all that tedious typing as the poster could just post the number of the paragraph that they wish to post.

This would be a great step towards weeding out the deeply flawed ‘thinking’ that permeates so many posts. There could even be a few ‘cunting off’ paragraphs for those that gain pleasure from exchanging these things.
