Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Good news, just the profile of player we need
More of the same please
As said I understand he eviscerated the ludicrously over rated Saka as Senegal destroyed England at Wembley

He does. But the biggest positive I'm taking from that compilation is that we haven't been linked with any goalkeepers from the Czech league!

Never heard of this guy before, but from the clips he looks strong and fast. And being young is another plus. Reminds me a little of Bissaka.

Except his weakness is defending. Which is great for a defender.
I didn't see the game but apparently he played really well against England and had Saka in his pocket and can also play as a cb, so he can't be that bad at defending.

On paper looks an ideal signing. Exactly the sort of profile and price we should have been looking at this time last year - not the (mostly) shit that Loppy signed.

West Ham Reach Agreement for Summer Signing, Medical Next Week

West Ham United have reportedly reached a full agreement with Slavia Prague to sign Senegalese left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf.

French journalist Santi Aouna reports that the 20-year-old is headed to London next week to undergo a medical ahead of a switch to the Hammers for an undisclosed fee. He has been on the Premier League club's radar since the transfer window opened.

Diouf will become Graham Potter's second signing this summer, following Jean-Clair Todibo's loan being made permanent in a £35m deal. He's now played his last game for Slavia Prague where his stock has grown as one of Africa's most in-demand talents.

Diouf has garnered interest amid an impressive spell in Czechia, managing seven goals and four assists in 41 games across competitions last season. He offers pace and creativity on the left flank that will help Potter try and turn the tide at the London Stadium.

Aouna has confirmed that Diouf has bid farewell to his teammates ahead of his move to east London:

"Full agreement reached between West Ham and Slavia Prague for El Hadji Malick Diouf. Diouf will undergo medical next week with the Hammers. Diouf will play his last game today with Slavia Prague and say goodbye to his teammates."

Diouf is set to arrive and the Irons appear to have increased their offer for the Senegal international. They previously failed with a £17m bid but he's remained keen to make the switch.

Expensive & unlikely to start ahead of Saka or Martinelli
Arsenal fans going off the deep end
Presumably want this striker & Eze sorted

Speaking of ridiculous fees I see Chelsea are quoting £100m for Nicolas Jackson

I feel like Arsenal and Chelsea have some sort of "arrangement" financially.
Hardly any of the transfers between the clubs has made any sense.
So many weird financial shenanigans between Chelsea and some clubs, must have wonderful accountants...

I think those of you who have been comparing Sullivan's negotiating techniques to those of a barrow boy (even if only by implication, not using those exact words) have got it wrong.

His technique is more akin to that of a horse trader at a Gypsy Fair.

I don’t want to piss on everyone’s cornflakes but I have a feeling that it will be a while before we see any signings in spite of selling Kudus.

Sullivan is Sullivan and can’t help himself. If the accountants predict a £100m loss in the current year then you can be sure Sullivan will avoid all expenditures. Especially if you consider that Kudus’s book value will be somewhere around £20m. In other words a £54.5m sale makes £34.5m profit off a £100m loss. We don’t know if some of the £54.5m is conditional add-one either in which case it’s less income guaranteed.

Consider a young LB for £20m and negotiations for other players and it’s easy to see why Sullivan doesn’t want to make the Czech teams day when at the moment he’s still sitting on a £70m loss…

Waiting for the Saudi money?
Unless having cash in the bank as an assest increases the sale price I don't sell the need.

He can't release the money to himself so why not use it?
