The ending's a bit shit. The main character has a sex change and turns into the Silver Surfer.

Have began watching Northern Exposure all over again, for the first time since it was on.
It has dated, but I love it.

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
I agree, but the review I read says it starts of slowly but the tension ratches up as it goes along.
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Thanks Alfs. Three episodes into Smoke and I like it. Bit slow but what can I say they are all slow burners these days....excuse the pun
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Thanks Alfs that looks good. I'll check it out on sunday.
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Yeah I watched about 20mins and switched off. There is acually no good series out there since The Studio.
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
As it's a TV thread just thought I would plonk this on here. Found out recently from someone that if you have had your Sky dish for years and it's gertting on a bit Sky would replace it for nothing. I don't have any insurance with them so didn't really believe it, but a quick live chat last week and today an engineer installed a brand new one and took the old one away for nothing. Least they could do considering the price you pay!! So if you need a new dish and are with Sky just give them a shout and you will get a new one.

Sydney_Iron wrote: ↑10 Jun 2025, 07:04 Been retro watching stuff from my youth in the UK.
Binge watching Shine on Harvey Moon at the moment, another classic from the 80,s, in the last few months the whole catalogue has been added to YouTube
TBH has not dated and still a very VERY good watch, loads of familiar faces, Elizibeth Spriggs though as Nan is superb, Witzend productions also made Auf Wiedershen Pet, another 80,s classic, but Harvey Moon used to pull 18 million plus viewers when it aired, not too shabby by any measure!.
highly recommend both for anyone not old enough to remember
no idea if run by ITV but there's an ITV Retro channel on youtube and it's uploading episodes of The Prisoner. it's brilliant stuff if you haven't seen it
