I don't think that anyone in the (current) government have any idea of the sacrifices and effort put in (in the days before the internet, when both Radio & TV were leading edge technology) to get the welfare state up and running in the UK, followed by the NHS (they'll all know about WW1 & WW2 when political points are available, though - wars are SEXY!). That stance from a Labour government is foul beyond belief.

They also seem to be importing a lower class of population that also has no idea how these societal concepts came about, and, equally important, no ties to the past - ties that we all have through just being around our (immediate) ancestors.

With such a set-up, the population will be easy to manipulate; just like some people appear to (sincerely and genuinely) believe that food comes only from shops & supermarkets, these new-comers to the UK will believe that wealth (and therefore their money) comes (only) from the government.

The government threaten to cut off their money stream, they'll do whatever parliament bids.

Agreed. When he broke the javelin world record for us back in 1986 he secured a place in my heart forever, and winning gold for us makes him a better Brit than half the people on WHO.

Forgetting it’s a Goose, and forgetting they’ll get away with any crime because it will be disregarded as a non-crime - Why the fuck is the ruling class allowing a once stable nation to be flooded by the third world?

The talking heads in the media and the mess in Downing Street are going to create the far-right mythical beast into a real thing and then when it does, there will be murders.

I can foresee some sort of Balkanisation or no-go areas based on physical characteristics or particular beliefs soon.

And if you tolerate this then you children will be next.
Wait for the big push for Sharia law, It’s coming. Just a matter of time.

The government/tourist industry et al need to stop bigging the fucking country up for a few years - THAT is what attracts so many people to get here by hook or by crook; streets paved with gold (or ponds full of geese, whatever floats your boat).

Those living in gated communities or areas the average person can never afford to live might "never have had it so good" and life is an absolute peach...for them. The rest of the country, however, has to put up with the shit they dump on us.

Don't worry about putting investment off. These people, if they're thinking of investing, will do their own due diligence on the country without any creepy, arse-licking comments from MPs or ministers needed; they will, however take any "financial incentives to invest", that in these economically constrained times, would be money better spent on extra NHS incubators for premature babies..

A social credit (Universal Basic Income) set up could work (in the UK) provided there was no political/government/(big) business influence or interference.

The government could (easily) supply information on those eligible/ineligible, along with their reasons for their decisions and a 100% independent & transparent arbitration process makes the final, legally binding decision.

Everybody would need (independently) verifiable proof of identification (ID cards?) to be considered in the first place.

Interesting that their description isn’t detailed. I mean, when compared to the wanker who ran fans celebrating the Scouse parade down, they couldn’t tell us quickly enough what the description of the driver was.
Anyone with half a brain can see where this "identification policy" is going: if the authorities don't immediately identify the perpetrator as white, social media will clam they are illegal immigrants/black/Asian/Muslim/all of the above. It's one of the benefits government licenced social media gives us.

Seems either way, the government are sitting on a powder-keg of their own making and illuminating it with a blowlamp.

What to do?

Well permanently remove the causes of crime from society, obviously, but there will always be some shouty cսnt who objects to that because it impacts on THEIR "human rights" or some other wishy-washy, self-centred argument that will tie up such procedures for years.
The concern is are additional powers the government legislates for, for a safer and more secure society, or big brother the population by having everyone under constant surveillance.

I don’t trust the government, and everything is gearing up to walk us to a Chinese style surveillance state with a social credit system, but with none of the benefits, as few as there are.

With regard to surveillance, I think that field was crossed a long time ago.

I use "field" rather than "line" here because there was not a single point or event that got us here, more like a death by 1,000 (paper) cuts.

Walk through London (or any town/city in the UK) and take a look at how many CCTV cameras there are - not just in public places like streets, stations & trains/buses, but also shops, bars, clubs and restaurants.

The authorities can request access to images recorded on/by those devices at any time and for reasons they could just make up on the spur of the moment.

Even at the London Stadium, you're all under the watchful eye of CCTV (and I hope you feel so much more secure, rather than being intruded upon, for being so).

The big issue is how data from those cameras is used/processed once it is in the hands of the authorities; the "security" angle ensures that the cameras themselves will never be removed - in fact some insurance policies demand their presence & operation - but the uses the data is put need to be tightly controlled, even to the extent of a senior judge issuing a prior warrant for it's use.

The only reason he is Mayor is because the Tories somehow to manage to come up with candidates who couldn’t find their arse with both hands

This murder got probably more publicity is that it happened in a very rich area in the street where you’d hope you’d be safe
Not heard any update but would have thought there would have been extensive cctv around there to trace the killer
They have made arrests and it looks like they have those responsible. It will be a huge funeral round here for the young fella . His dad is West Ham nuts .

Not deflecting or making any political point, merely pointing out that has been going on for a while
