May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Like many on here I’ve been approaching this new season with dread and negativity- not helped by the lack of anything exciting happening in the transfer market. But what we’ve seen in the two games in America at least suggests some sort of plan, a bit of team spirit, a potential leader in Füllkrug and some positive signs from the youth as well as some who’ve looked like they should be shipped out. I despise Sullivan and I’m nervous about Potter but you don’t think we might actually be ok- even quite good after all? 

Very true, it's been a good pre-season overall so far in that respect. Generally happy with what I've seen.

Still plenty of time for Sullivan to fuck it up by cutting corners or going rogue in the transfer market.

“Trust in Sullivan” because thats worked so well these last 15 years. “First class team for a first class stadium”.  Actually thinking about it, we have got the right squad / team for that stadium. “Half baked”, “ramshackle” are words that come to mind.

As expected with Sullivan back in charge of recruitment ( because its him calling the shots ultimately) we are 2 weeks away from a new season and the mess,  he alone created by insisting against all advice to appoint Lopetegui, has still not been rectified. The problems that emerged 18 months into the Moyes era, like lack of central midfield pace and energy, still not addressed.  

Sullivan’s narcissism prevents him being unable to learn, listen and even be aware if his own failings. He is not even willing to learn. Only concessions he gives are after being forced to by other board members ( e.g. Steidten as a DOF ) but he half inplements it in a confused fashion, where recruitment ends up being shared between Steidten, Loppy and Sullivan himself, almost as if he us trying to undermine ir sabotage any changes from day one.

You gotta hand it to Sully he is a serial failure with improving the club he controls and yet, at the same time, relentless in repeating the same mistakes and being unable to learn anything.

The 1st two are almost exclusively left side, Elanga I personally have only seen operate from the left and none offer Bowen's G&A numbers. They know they're unlikely to replace Isak's output with another striker so the sensible plan is add goals to the team.
