Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Hermansen played the whole game with 2 keepers on the bench including Begovic who they signed a few days ago.

Apparently a 25m fee has been agreed so why is he playing for Leicester? Seems a bit of a risk and doesn't usually happen.
seems a bit pointless for him & Leicester too, surely they'd want to try out their number 2 in their last pre season friendly?

Shame Newcastle are far too forward thinking and not run by a greedy malevolent imbecile who puts their own and their mates interests over the needs of the club they own and the manager of. Otherwise if they were as farcically and irresponsibly run as us they could have signed Antonio for a 180 on the podcast.

Difference I guess is that Antonio has never publicly slagged off Newcastle like that cսnt Wilson has done to us.

One ray of sunshine of true. Even if it’s a season to get in the shop window to resurrect a huge move, he will shine for us. A motivated Paqueta with a point to prove to everyone. Love to see him playing with some freedom and a smile.

Was it last year or the year before we said “if we start the season with Antonio upfront then we have failed in the transfer window”.

same goes for this summer and our central midfield.

Sullivan Im now suspecting has picked the cheap, old Brazilian goalkeeper because the deal was reportedly brokered thru Willie Mackay who has used many times over the last 15 years.  He’s 29 this year so again going against the Potter / Macaulay plan but more concerning, according to scouting reports, this keeper is decent in the air and a good shot stopper but playing with his feet out from the back is not his strength !!   Therein lies the issue with Sullivan a non football man who thinks he’s a mastermind on anything.  Another player who’s profile doesnt fit.  Whats the point of Macaulay?

And the central midfield, Sullivan no doubt lining up Brownhill or someone else old and cheap as he is rumoured to have said Potter’s targets are too expensive. He is also holding back until we sell players at fees no one will pay.

Relegation fight incoming and Potter, while not my preferred manager, is certainly not the main reason why we are likely to struggle.

The most depressing thing is that Sullivan now lining up David Sullivan Jnr to carry on tue family interference and undermining of any chance of progress.  Sullivan family is the worst thing ever to happen to this club ?

This is the most depressing window I can remember

we’ve not signed a single player that’s going to improve the first team

If we sign this Brazilian keeper (100% Sullivan’s pick) over the two that we’ve actually scouted then that really is gonna sum it up for me, not to mention we’re still ignoring the huge problems in central midfield

Our only real hope for an improved first team is that some of the youngsters step up, which fingers crossed, looks like might be a possibility

We should have agreed to extending Fergusons loan from the end of last season had the manager given him a proper chance instead of ending up in this horrific position of scraping the geriatric raspberry barrel.

Ok, we might need an experienced old pro - well versed in the art of being a bit of a cսnt - to see out the last 10 minutes of a match occasionally. Do we have anyone else who fits that description?

Welcome Callum 😊

The bloke is a prick but what’s the alternative than hope we’re all wrong and he is a success?

If it goes as we expect, it’s another stick to beat Sullivan with.

If nothing else, let’s hope it leaves enough cash to really strengthen the other priority areas. A centre midfielder with legs for a start.
