You're going to be when the majority of your possession is 80 yards from the target.

Didn't we have more possession than Man U in that game?

It's a bollocks stat anyway, like most of them.  It's what you do with it in possession that matters.  But we are VERY shot shy under Potter.

Couldn't find the stats last night so just seen them.

I knew they were going to be bad but WOW.

58% possession, 14 shots and 15 corners to our 42%, 5 shots and 1 corner.

You can't ride that luck for long, especially when it's for real and the opposition actually gives a shit.

Still no attacking intent just loads of crab ball shite in our own defensive 3rd.

Can't say I'm overly keen on the style, and we're still slow as a team, but I actually quite enjoyed the game as a whole. Yeah they missed a couple of chances, but so did we, the Bowen slice for one was a good a chance as what they had.

All in all, I was worried about being relegated, but watching us yesterday, we won't be near that mess. Maybe expectations have been lowered, but given the last 3 years of dire league form & performances, yesterday we at least looked like the players know what they're doing, even if it's not my cup of tea.

Still think we'll have the same problems with Aguerd, and Todibo looks like he'll either be brilliant or shit, but I have to say, I thought Kilman was very good yesterday, just got to hope he is consistent with it into the season.

The new left back clearly has an absolute weapon of a cross, big thing to remember with him, he's only 20, similar age to Scarles & Potts. I thought Potts showed some real class, I really hope the manager is brave and starts him in the Prem, as I reckon once he gets 10 games behind him, he'll be a player.

Gonna go into the season positive. It's been so shit for so long, we've got to have some hope.

We won without playing well.

I'm not much a fan of this style, though.  I feel we'll have to win quite a bit to make it bearable.

Watched the highlights and as already said could have been three down at one point. Positives are Diouf has a cracking cross on him, whipped in brilliantly and our German striker looks leaner and sharper so hopefully can stay fit. Negatives I can't understand how the fans can see but the club can't or just ignore the fact that the midfield needs legs. We were over run early on and against better teams will suffer. It's a problem since Rice left and needs sorting. At the back I'm not convinced with any of the centre halves and as we all know Areolas distribution is poor. Keeper, midfielder and centre half needed but clearly won't happen.

JWP anonymous and Potts was the slightly better of the two.
Bournemouth should have been 3 or 4 up at half time.
Attacking play by us was very limited and we constantly had a flat back 5....  against Bournemouth in a friendly!
Very worrying how we lacked creativity and wee plated off the pitch for large parts of the game.

Spoke to him last night. He's coaching in Huntsville Alabama. He was working with the academy here in Atlanta for a while before that.

Couple of things watching this live. Out attack is improved which isn't saying much, and it's still not much. I'm glad Fullkrug is still here. If he can stay healthy, I think he can be a presence. That's a big if.

Not sure why Alvarez didn't feature. Why sell him for less than we paid.

I'm curious what the players say about the pitch since it is temporary.

This preseason series was much better attended in years past. That being said, we showed up, and I'm always amazed by our support no matter where they hail from. Salt of the earth and it was great having this in my home town. The supporters make this club.

It's Moyes MKII. It aint gonna be pretty watching this Ceefax Football you only really want to tune in at the end to find out the score without going through the torture of watching 11 men behind the ball before hopefully getting a snatch and grab result.

We'd be so lost without him. Probably would have been relegated by now and definitely no Trophy had we never bought him. For once Sullivan struck it so, so lucky with that boy.

The most important signing we've made since the turn of the Millennium.

Get an athletic, pacy central midfielder to replace JWP and a goalkeeper that can use the ball with his feet ( to be part of the build up in play ) and we will have an OK season IMO.  Otherwise, no real progress with us being in a low table struggle and perhaps even being on the fringes of a relegation fight.

How many years have we been wanting more pace, strength and ball carrying ability in that midfield?  It goes back decades.  The only real exception was Rice's presence. He was able to mask the problem for a while.   The ghost of Kovac lives on 😉

Struggled to watch it on the stream I had. Looked a bit shit at the start, but the goals were good. Bowen's consistency is reassuring. Maybe we won't be quite as bad as last year. Pre-season optimism getting the better of me? Perhaps.

We had something in common with Bournemouth, we also only wanted to play football in our final third.

Like watching a Moyes team without the excitement of anticipating a counter attack.

Never seen win so tepid and dull. It's practically unwatchable.

We was lucky to be fair, the cherry's missed some sitters, we took our chances though, poachers goal from the big German and a fabulous cross from "Tragic" and Bowen got on the end of it.

Need to defend better, on another day we would have lost, they cut us open a few times, happy with the win but not so happy the defensive effort.

Honestly if Bournemouth had their shooting boots on like we did, they would have been out of sight by half time. Result is again good during pre-season,  no real injuries which is all encouraging signs for the new season. It is boring as fuck to watch though with little ambition to attack even if we do make the most of the scraps we do get. Just greatful we have clinical Strikers on hand at the moment to rely on.
