joe royal on tour with Underworld
Well, to call it a tour is a bit of a stretch, show tonight in Audley End, not what i'd call a good fit in a stately home , 2nd date is Helsinki of all places (36 hour ferry crossing) and the last one is the Green Man festival in Wales.
Begs the question, why Helsinki only, it's 6k in ferry bookings alone, you would think that they would do something on the way there and back.
Now you know why concert tickets are expensive.

I'm surprised they're not going back to Romford.
Oddly enough Karl came up to me when i was sat in the truck and we had a 5 minute conversation, i did ask him why we are doing a stand alone show in helsinki and his reply was along the lines of we never stop, after this show we are in the studio with (forget who now) before we fly out.
Didn't really answer the question tho.
Watched them perform and they are fantastic live and if i look as good as him at 68 i'll be happy.
He did live in Romford but moved out to Saffron Walden because he didn't want his daughter growing up there.

I live walking distance to Audley End and went to the Simple Minds show a couple of years ago, it was brilliant. The concert season there is getting bigger and bigger each year

If you can chore any merch I’ll buy it off you, Joe.
I’d have anything from a T shirt, CD or their mixing desk.

I had an email from Ticketmaster yesterday including a link to tickets for some Aussie Floyd shows at the Palladium. I clicked on it really out of interest to see how many they'd sold. The answer is a lot, and saw that the few available tickets in the stalls are £133 each! For a tribute band.
We are transitioning to a new era where 'legendary' bands are either retired or about to, and good tributes will become the new norm, charging near enough what it would have cost to see the originals.
I suppose it's a bit like seeing a good orchestra or a gig by Mozart himself? Now those tickets would cost a bit...
