Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

McKay got us Payet didn't he?

So doesn't mean he'll be bad, maybe the other two were unattainable as in we couldn't afford them.

Maybe then Potter was offered this bloke and they liked him, as I said he refused Cooper if we're believing ex on this we have to believe him on that and if he refused one why not both?

Either way if he signs it doesn't fucking matter and I'll just hope he's decent and I won't judge him till I see him.

He's got the most pointless job in the world. He's still doing all the work. I wonder how long it might be until he just thinks 'fuck it' and starts Avram Grant-ing in his office because he might as well be if everything he does is going to be chucked in the bin.

Sofar Potter and Macaulay have got one of the players they identified, Diouf.   He wants to e spend as little as possible this summer and allegedly believes Potters other picks are too expensive. Hence Wilson, KWP and what now looks like this Victor GK. i fully expect Brownhill next. Look back the last 15 years and Sullivan still using the agent mate model and 3 agents dominate: Salthouse, Silkman and Mackay.

Potter really cannot be blamed if we see no improvement or problems at the bottom of the table again this season Imo.  Sullivan has meddled and undermined him.

If things dont go well ( which is highly likely imo ) you will see rumours and stories that make it all Potters fault.

The above script is yet another part of “The Sullivan effect”.

Yup, same thing we've seen a million times before. little leaks going against Potter and Macauley, anything to undermine them, what they are doing and any of their own players they may actually be able to bring in.

If Potter goes, another unemployed cheap manager will come in, only be given a portion of what they ask for in terms of players while being lumped with another load of brown paper bag specials and expected to make a proper team out of it. I'm starting to understand why Moyes never wanted to buy anyone. At least he wouldn't be saddled with a load of Sullivan shit. As has been mentioned this will be 75% Sullivan signings vs 25% what the manager actually needs and wants this summer, if this keeper joins. No faith any of them aside from KWP are actually being brought in for the right reasons and NONE of them are going to have improved the team in the slightest. Surprise surprise the only one that will have is the one Potter wanted.

I just don't understand an owner acting this way and willfully damaging their own multi million investment all for the sake of cosying up to their mates and possibly allegedly a little earner on the side out of it. It just makes no sense. He has to be in the hole to someone to be acting this way. He cannot think this is the best way to have the team succeed on the pitch, by acting in favour of his agent mates over his football club.

Macaulay's got the easiest job in the world with Sullivan as the boss.

How much did we have to pay for him?

I've seen this claim. But I've also seen it claimed Diouf wasn't identified by Macaulay at all, but recommended by Vladimir Smicer to Kretinsky, and then the name passed along to Macaulay/Potter for sign off.

As of now we supposedly haven't signed any of the players Macaulay directly has identified.

I don’t want West Ham players to fail, but this Victor John gives me bad vibes. I’m only going by YouTube but he’s got as many clangers as he has great saves. From what I read, his distribution is not that great. From the clips, he seems to be glued to his goal line. My hunch is that he is no better than Areola, most probably worse, he isn’t what we need, and a waste of £10m.

If we sign him, of course I would wish him well. I just think  he is a disaster waiting to happen.

I know there is a bloopers video of his mistakes but I've seen them of other brilliant goal keepers and you wouldn't want them if you saw them..

The Leicester keeper literally punched one into his own net against us last season that was wrongly disallowed.

He wouldn't have been my choice because I've never heard of him also if you believe ex Potter vetoed Cooper who is a Salthouse client so if he's correct about that why wouldn't he do the same with John?

If he signs I'll wait till I see him play to call him shit.
Ex has just confirmed what other reports have been saying, that McKay is involved.

So far, it's 1 player from the recruitment team, and 3 players in from Sullivan.

I don't want us to get relegated, but you can't say we don't deserve it if it happens.

I don’t have an issue with Victor being an unknown as long as it’s Potter and Macauley’s unknown, my problem is that Sullivan has shown he dips his oar in so many times he paints a fucking great target on his own back, it’s a shame that nobody hits that target with a deserved hammer

I heard this yesterday. It is an absolute joke. What other owner openly shits all over his manager and recruiter’s plans so much in favour of just doing what he wants with no thought of how he’s harming his own club?

Dewsbury-Hall to Everton for £26m, pretty decent player but not as good as Brownhill 🤣
