I thought we might have been getting a bargain considering how he was built up.

Turns out he's probably a complete waste of money for a position that didn't really needed upgrading.

That's on Potter.

Think Ramsdale on loan would have been the better option for us.

freed the cash up to spend elsewhere.

Anyway it’s done now. Hopefully he comes good but he should never have started at the weekend. Earn your place.

Just noticed this shithouse flapper hasn't managed a single cap for Denmark.

NOT ONE.

Not even a pity cap, at 25 years old, for fucking Denmark.

WTF were we thinking?

Broadly agree with that but if he's asked for the justification then Areola being responsible for both goals against Man Utd is probably what he'd rely upon

Easy to say in hindsight but the cսnt should have earned his place in the starting 11 especially after only just signing AND returning from an injury not been gifted it, it’s maybe pissed Areola off as well as he know knows who the gaffer sees as first choice.

On yesterday’s performance is he any better than Areola???? He certainly got plenty of practice at picking the ball out of the back of the net last season, and by the looks of things will be doing quite a bit more this season.

Early days but maybe need to scout some keepers for next season if this bloke carries on in this way? He’s a bench warmer at best.

I’m not going to throw him under the bus after one game like Potter did
Not played a minute of preseason with that defence and has had a weeks training
Obviously needs to lift his game massively but picking him in that circumstance was another selection blunder by Potter
Almost as bad as picking Rodriguez & JWP ahead of Potts. Chickened out when Potts has been far better in preseason
If he isn’t picking Alvarez ahead of those as well it seems certain he is off
Watching Reijnders & Cherki for City yesterday you can forget any idea of them making a play for Paqueta
We are stuck with a load of unsalable deadwood

I think he lost concentration for the 3rd goal it was 100% stoppable and he got over ok to save it, but missed it with his flapping arm. Areola is actually quite good at that sort of save and would have saved it. The other goals were very spectulative punts into the box that their men got to first, which was criminal considering we had 3 CBs. Mad could have done better, but poor defending against not very good counter attacking was main problem.
I certainly won't right Hermansen off on this display, but it's a worry.

Seen it suggested he's not truly recovered from his groin injury, and is protecting pushing off on his left leg when diving to his right still.

Not re-reviewed the footage, but could we have been sold a pup? Wouldn't put it last us. Concerning there has been quite a bit of GK movement this Summer, and yet we were the only ones in for Hermansen.

This looks like a good one, fingers and toes crossed.
Looked up John Victor and he is 29 having been mailny a reserve keeper and injured bar the last couple of years. That would have been weird one.

Quite positive about this one too.

Do we know who was behind the signing? Is he one of Potter's?

I hope this lad is good. He’s apparently a ball playing goalie, so it gives us options, we just need someone mobile and a jack of all trades for the middle.

Anyone know if we’ve the Cockney/Essex Gerrard in the academy?

All this chatter about keepers over the last 48-72 hours has made me miss Hugh Monteith and his peculiar obsession with goaltenders.

I've got a good feeling about this one.
I reckon he's the best out of the 'keepers we've been linked with and will go on to be first choice for a good number of years.

I honestly have no opinion on him at all as can't say I've ever watched him that closely.

Hopefully he turns out good, bit odd that we had no competition for him though.
