Wan Bissaka lack of concentration. Defense pushed up to play offside and he carried on tracking his man back. Good finish. To be honest they deserved it.
We have been pretty poor. Bowen has really tried to get involved but our midfield is slow, passing ponderous and wayward. Paqueta and Fullkrug particularly wasteful giving away the ball in dangerous areas. Still no gameplan I see. Hope we do something about the midfield. Effort is there but always seem to be chasing shadows or off the pace. Dont anticipate well enough and get caught ball watching.

We need to nick the ball and drive at teams but we dont. Easy to defend against a side who is so passive.

Hard to see us improving our league position by much and if Mancs and Spurs are better and thise coming up are not so weak we might be in trouble.

We simply dont have a central midfield to play the possession game we want to play. Paqueta and JWP and Potts as a collective just lacks the speed and power. Potts looked the better of the 3.  We rely on long diagonals to get forward as we did under Moyes.  We dont have the players to beat a decent pressing team. Lille are a decent team and good test that we are failing to pass.

Most talented player sold. African left back signed.
Free transfer forward signed.
Lee season games have been very boring, non attacking stye of play.
Squad value depreciation from last season and last season was horrendous.

Lille ahead. Kilman caught ball watching leaving Giroud with acres. looked like no one talking in the back line.

Same issues in centre midfield as per last few seasons. We want too much time and too slow out from the back as we dont have the legs and power to break thru their press.  JWP, Potts and Paqueta as a 3 not working well enough

No Marshall on the bench.  Potter's flirtation with the youth seems short lived, Potts aside.

Easy goal for Lille. Their passing was good - virtually 100% found one of their own players.

Us?

Sideways/backwards, no forward vision or running.

Anyone have a bet on Paqueta getting carded?

As Maverick says, inability to play out into midfield. Lille pressing causing us issues. Central midfield issues as usual but also Fullkrug terrible so far as an out ball. He gives it back straight away.

As a team we are still too slow and not enough mivement thru the middle
