Yes, slightly.
But 15th is closer to bottom than top though...

Obviously predictions should be upgraded to a Europe spot. He's hardly going to say on record to the BBC, "The squad is full of slow cunts, the midfield is currently a disaster, and we're fucked if it stays like this."
You'd like to think he's singing a different song behind closed doors to the board (who I've seen it suggested all want out as of now).
Completely agree. He's just saying what he has to say. By not doing so he wrecks the morale of the team and it's never a good idea to essentially badmouth your employer so publicly.

Re: The Telegraph predict us finishing 15th
BBC have us 13th. No real explanation given for it and it doesn’t look like they’ve actually done any reasoned research. No mention of our midfield issues or the lack of addressing it. Just that the signings should help. Lazy.
They have a few interesting predictions. Palace improving and Bournemouth tumbling. Leeds to stay up and Wolves to drop with the other new sides.

Re: The Telegraph predict us finishing 15th
So have you changed your mind on us finishing bottom of table as you predicted not too long ago?

Mone (cash flow) is too tight for us to be able to afford to go on cup runs.
If Sully is worried about stumping up for the luxury coach travel he can always charter a few Dial-a-Rides or book the players in at a quid a pop on the Megabus to ferry the squad to where they need to go.
It might even contribute to improved team bonding and their morale in general...

If we sort the mobility in that midfield then all of a sudden the defence will start to look a lot better given their limitations in certain traits.
We still need a young, mobile striker who is a nuisance to the opposition likewise with the centre midfield where 2 are required unless Potts or someone else steps up. He looks the most likely at the moment.
I can't see much better than 15th...sounds about right to me.

Re: The Telegraph predict us finishing 15th
as others have said I think a couple of those high fliers of last season might tank a bit in terms of league form when they meet the rigors of European competition - just like we did really.
I don't see anything that makes me think we'll be either in trouble or be top half. Dont think we've set the world on fire with our signings (so far) and still don't think we've addressed that lack of quality in midfield sufficiently. 15th is a reasonable stab.

Also Palace will have to play in Europe on Thursdays. They won't be used to that.
Yup very true. Forest as well might be stretched. Talk of Wharton and Real Madrid this morning too. If HE goes then surely Mateta considers his future and that's their team almost completely gutted of the talent that got them really punching for a couple of seasons.

Re: The Telegraph predict us finishing 15th
Not unreasonable with our current midfield
2 quality players takes us to about 10th I reckon
Troy Deeney (the new BBC Garth Crooks) has us 16th

Re: The Telegraph predict us finishing 15th
Obviously impossible to predict before a ball is kicked but realistically we should be looking at 12th being the absolute low bar. But as has said, should we finish 17th,Sullivan will probably arrange street party's.

I think it'll be an unpredictable season. I predict neither Liverpool or MCity win. West Ham could finish anywhere, all depends on Potter getting his shit together.

Re: The Telegraph predict us finishing 15th
The thing is, and it happens each season, is that predictions are made before the clubs have finished settling their squads for the ongoing campaign.
It might be easier placing the top six because apart from the Isak issue clubs look to have finished their business. As for other finishing place predictions whither Bournemouth who seem to have sold off the majority of their defence?

Re: The Telegraph predict us finishing 15th
This might be the first year there's actually been some realism with Man U. Ridiculous how every season they've been pushed as POTENTIAL top 3 or 4 on nothing other than their name and what happened ten years ago. I'm pretty sure a couple of years ago they were tipped to be in a big title race with Man City.
It's as bad as hearing the Dallas Cowboys are definitely going to win the Super bowl every August.
