Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Given Sullivan’s mismanagement where we have no money after 10 years in a 60,000 seat stadium costing £2.5m a year we have to sell to buy the obvious players we need to plug massive holes
That may mean Paqueta & Alvarez go along with small fees for the likes of Rodriguez & Irving to give us anything to plug our gaping midfield holes
Impressive … one game in and we look a basket case
Of course until Sullivan is driven out we will lurch from crisis to crisis

Hopefully this scares the shit out of Sullivan like his trans girlfriend approaching with a foot long strap on

Hayden Hackney opens the scoring for Boro in a 3-0 win at Millwall. Young English midfielder with working legs
Get him & the boy from Lille

Bin the turgid Rodriguez & JWP any which way
Not good enough at this level

It is bonkers - and yet so fucking West Ham - that we haven't yet done anything about central midfield since May. We're like those wide-eyed dads you see out shopping for their wife's present at 4pm on Christmas Eve.

"Knock-off perfume that smells like cat litter? At this stage, mate, I'll take it..."

"Ropey Bolivian international midfielder with half a knee and a drug habit? And you say he's only wanted by Interpol and the FBI? Yeah, go on then..."

A kindred spirit for Sully too:

Always liked Bissouma at Brighton but he’s been injury prone since being at the Spuds and is now 28th and on high wages. Which makes him a typical Sullivan signing. Who’s his agent?

Caught Offside

West Ham join Premier League rivals in the race to sign Tottenham ace

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder had an underwhelming season last year, and he has been linked with multiple clubs. According to Sacha Tavolieri, West Ham United and Everton are monitoring his situation.

Bissouma wants Premier League stay

The midfielder is reportedly keen on staying in England this season. If he manages to stay in the country for another year, he could obtain a British passport, and that will play a key role in his decision-making regarding his future. The player is not against staying at Tottenham this season, and it will be interesting to see what the club decides.

It could be ideal for Tottenham to move him on if they can find a quality defensive midfielder. They have already signed Joao Palhinha, and Bissouma could struggle for regular game time. He needs to play more often at this stage of his career, and leaving the North London club could be ideal for him as well.

Meanwhile, West Ham need a quality defensive midfielder, especially with Edson Alvarez linked with an exit from the club. Bissouma could be a useful acquisition for them. He has plenty of experience in the Premier League. He could make an instant impact. A fresh start at the London club could be ideal for the player as well.

Finally, Everton looked quite vulnerable defensively last season, and they need to tighten up in that area of the pitch. A quality defensive midfielder will help them stay organised at the back, and he will also allow the creative players to operate with more freedom.

Given his situation at Tottenham, he is unlikely to cost a premium. It will be interesting to see if West Ham or Everton comes forward with an offer to sign him.

Really odd  vague shit...

IF true, HE shouldn't be reviewing anything after what WE had to put up with involving him. If WE want to keep or sell him right now so soon after his outcome, then that's our concern and he should really just concentrate on restoring his tragic lost form for over 2 years now.

Bang on, and he’s taking up a place in the squad which could be used to help bring through any of our youngsters whose players deserve to see a way through to the main squad. In short a fucking awful signing, and so fucking predictable.
He's not taking the place of a youngster in the squad because you can have as many u-21 kids as you want.

Guess £10m will get us the right leg of Fernandes
Nope, that money is being used to back fill the Hermansen shaped hole.

We only spend if we can shift any/all of Alvarez, Mavropanos, Soucek, Paqueta.

Alvarez close, Germany or back to Ajax. Not at a profit.

Interest in Paqueta, could break even, same with Mavropanos.

It’s going to be a wild ride this season.
Maybe we need to sell because we can't buy and Sullivan is up to his old tricks, it's a very odd post, sounds like one of our "we're thinking about preparing to make a bid" shit.

Sounds to be like Paqueta knows what’s going on behind the scene and is a rat jumping off our sinking ship.

Our most fragile position is midfield and the fact we start our season tomorrow without anyone mobile in the middle looks like it’ll ensure we’ll struggle all season. My prediction in July was relegation, and selling our only creative player ensures that.

I reckon we get a couple of decent signings in this window that might strengthen the first team, which should have bene done months ago.
A few weeks ago I suggested that the only way we could shift Guido is if an Argentinian manager in the Saudi League thought he could do a job.

That matches the manager of Al-Taawoun and ex Boca Juniors and Villarreal legend Rodolfo Arruabarrena.

Hopefully it's him and if so we all owe him a case of Quilmes beer. 🍻

His mentor is Manny Pellegrini so maybe he put a word in for us out of repent...fingers crossed 🤞🏻

El Scorchio" wrote: 15 Aug 2025, 15:16 Because it’s what the transfer stands for. It’s a Sullivan brown paper bag special off one of his mates for a player no one wants or needs who is a injury prone has been, which has been done before areas of actual need in the squad have been addressed. Financially it’s not horrible unless he plays.

Wilson is a symbol of all that’s rotten at and wrong with the club which is why it pisses people off. To boot he’s a player that’s openly mocked the club in the past.

He’s the player you sign on deadline day if you’re desperate to fill one final squad place as insurance. Not before you’ve signed proper players.

Forest Gate Ugly" wrote: 15 Aug 2025, 16:22 I hear you. But I do think there are some positives with JWP. His free kicks have been a massive disappointment but I think his corner taking is excellent and potentially a difference maker if Kilman, Todibo and Mavropanos could head the ball even half as well as dear old Craig Dawson. I’m hoping set pieces from JWP may be meat and drink to an improved Füllkrug. I’ve said before that I have a certain affection for JWP because of the goal he and Bowen contrived to score away at Spurs. But the reason Potter loves him is because he’s a really good guy who’s good for team spirit. The team look genuinely happier and more cohesive than they did this time last year. JWP is central to that. I am travelling tomorrow full of stupid optimism that we will win through two goals by Bowen and Füllkrug which are from JWP assists.
I hope you're right.
That would double the number assists he got for us last season
